Quick, comfortable, quiet car with one wart

This is a really neat car. Comfortable, fun to drive, stable, and super quiet. Acceleration is great when you need it, and there are options out the wazoo to make it respond to the accel pedal the way you want. I like it a lot and am looking forward to summer mountain trips with it. One big "but" is that there is no rear window wiper, and in climates where you car gets dirty (Colorado winter) you will never be able to see out the back. I think that is a big flaw, and that the car needs either that rear wiper or a camera-based rear view mirror. They could have easily piped the back up camera signal for this, but did not. It's really the only big issue I have.

Lot of good features

Enjoy most aspects of the vehicle, but very disappointed that the vehicle was advertised as 303 mile full charge range. I never get that even with all accesories turned off. Only get 270-280. Also a $55000 vehicle should have a powered passenger seat. It does not.

Love it.. except for the lack of rear wiper

I truly love this car, it’s comfortable with plenty of space inside, handles the highway perfectly and has very little cabin noise. However, the lack of a rear window wiper is a major design flaw. The rear window visibility during the rain is near zero creating very dangerous driving situations.

Great vehicle

Very happy with the vehicle appearance, quality, comfort and quietness. Very fast and fun to drive. Impressive handling. Back seats comfort and leg room is better than most luxury vehicles. When compared with much less priced vehicles the lease cost is well worth it.

Enjoying our Limited

AWD - IL winter battery range as expected (about 1/3 less than advertised); charging infrastructure biggest challenge for fast charging; enjoying all the little local trips and driving by gas stations. I'd buy this car again - no regrets.

Great car ... but charging is an issue

The Hyundai Ionic 5 deserves all the accolades. It accelerates smoothly, drives extremely well, offers the ability to customize your driving experience, looks great, is more than comfortable ... but range anxiety is real, and in the Midwest, charging is still a challenge. Finding charging requires a mishmash of apps, many of which do not provide updated or accurate information. Even some Hyundai dealers are loath to let their chargers be used by anyone who's not a customer of that dealership. Come on! EV adoption benefits everyone – and it only works if everyone works together. As a result, we're a little scared to take an amazing road-trip car on road trips. Someday soon, hopefully ...

So far, this car has been great. Usually, with a new car, you have a punch list of things for the dealer to resolve. So far, except for one very minor rattle, we have none. We are pleased with the whole buying experience. We love our electric car

Buyable, liveable EV

Driving a well-built EV is a dream, and this is no different. There’s a reason it’s won a lot of awards. And it’s just affordable enough and with just long enough range that I think anyone could live with this car. If a car like this could drop in price by $10,000 or more, it would be a must buy. I love how spacious it is—in the seats and in storage. I love how fast it drives and handles. I love how quiet it is. It’s an amazing car.

Great vehicle with a few quirks that need addressing

overall, very happy with the vehicle in terms of performance and styling. Vehicle is good looking, but Hyundai logo does not match the styling (needs to be smaller, redesigned, or at least match the paint of the body so that it's not so garish). Needs include rear wipers, better carplay integration, and some sensor issues.

An amazing unique car, fell in love at first sight!

I was set to purchase a different vehicle but at the 2021 LA Auto Show, I saw this beauty and loved it. So many things about it kept me coming back to it and changed my mind on the purchase I was set to make going into the auto show. It took a full year to get the vehicle I wanted (unfortunately at a markup). Everything about the car is great. As with any car there will always be minor things/issues you can get used to over time. It is fun to drive and the HDAII is amazing with stop and go highway traffic. I have been extremely happy after 3mo of ownership :)

Almost perfect

There are maybe three flaws with this vehicle, but they are all pretty big flaws. The car has no rear wiper, which is awful for such a big window. The sound system is lacking. The quality is good but they need to just add more speakers all around. The hud and side blinker cameras are in a weird spot if you are on the shorter side. It also sometimes slightly exaggerates how many miles it will get on a charge, but I suspect all electrics do this. Some of this is preference, but that rear wiper is a big issue. You get two free years of charging at Electrify America, but those chargers are few and far between so that's almost pointless. Other than that the car is great.

Great for families

We got this as our new family car. Plenty of room in the back for our three little ones and extra USB plugs for tablets and devices. A lot of legroom up front as well. Remote start/climate control is great for winters. Nice that second adult can get into the vehicle with just the phone app to grab something without the keyfob. Not paying for gas is a big plus!

Great car with a few hiccups

This is the best car I've ever owned so far. The only complaints I have is not enough physical buttons, no rear wiper, crap sound system, and side by side headlights make people flash brights at you. There are buttons on weird places that you accidentally hit a lot (child locks, climate button is capacitive when trying to adjust radio volume hit it and turn AC/heat on it off). It's powerful yet quiet. It looks good and rides excellent. Charging isn't a horrid experience. It's roomy compared to others in this price. My complaints are mostly an fyi or inconvenient. The car is great overall.

I wanted to stop paying high gas prices and maintenance items like oil changes, transmission maintenance, etc so I bought my first EV. One of the main reasons for getting the IONIQ5 is the fast charging speeds!

Best looking EV on the market

We are happy with our purchase of a 2023 Hyundai IONIQ5 RWD SE. We picked RWD for the better range, and were pleased to see that the vehicle actually meets the range estimates (i.e it's not an optimistic range for marketing purposes). Build quality seems good and we haven't experienced any issues so far. The charging networks are outside of Hyundai's control, so that's a separate issue.

Magnificent Vehicle

I just love my Hyundai Ionic 5! The ride is so smooth, quiet and comfortable. The amenities are so plentiful that even after having her for 3 months I STILL haven’t experienced everything she has to offer. Everyone on the street stops to ask about her. The fact that she is ALL electric makes me sooo happy!

great car. no bugaboos yet. love it

for a family of tall folks, who like to haul things and occasionally race, it's fantastic. would like the ride to be a bit more firm, or adjustable though. the turning radius is long too. quality is right at the top, comfortable, cool bells and whistles, styling is polarizing, but beautiful to me, and it gets more compliments than any car ive ever owned.

Great vehicle

Overall great car. Great looks room feel are perfect. I would prefer about another 100 miles of range and a few technical changes that could be easily fixed with over the air updates. Those are fairly minor by comparison to the things i like about the vehicle and I hope to test out more this summer when we start taking this thing camping. Which I may want to add a trailer hitch to it and see how well it handles towing.
