Nice upgrade from my previous sedan

Quiet, comfortable, good visibility, great cabin, heated seats and steering wheel (important for cold New England drivers). Nice safety features. Much smoother and more relaxing ride than my previous Subaru WRX, the suspension is really soft and cushions me from the terrible New England roads. I like the convenience features of the car, having the doors open automatically when I approach is nice; it means I don't have to fish the key fob out of my pocket and click the button every time I enter the vehicle which is annoying when you have your hands full of groceries.

Ioniq 5 SEL 2025, white

Ride is bumpier than 2024 model SE. Seems lighter in weight than 2024 model SE, I actually like the heavier 2024 model SE. Does not have the same pick-up as the 2024 SE. Like the back wiper, but it is small. I think it could be longer. Would like a regular 2.0 USB size charger, not just the fast USB charge size. Would like to lock the doors, without having the key in my pocketbook. Love the back seat heaters and vents for back seats. Sometimes it takes too long to lock with my finger. Wish it was more sensitive on the door handle. The added items that you charge for, is NOT NECESSARY! I was forced to pay for something I don't need, except the flat tire kit. All the rest of the stuff you should not charge for. AND I had my old floor mats, and didn't want the new ones. You charged me for them as well! TOTALLY UN-NECESSARY! I feel like I was over charged. Why did you change the style of the adapter to charge it? Now I have another piece I have to keep track of when charging.

Scared the ICCU will fail, already had two 12V issues in first year

I love how the car looks and feels, and that it has physical buttons for seat heaters. However every single time I drive it I am scared the ICCU will fail and I’ll be stranded. I drive constantly looking for the safe place to pull over. I have already had two 12V battery issues within the first year, signs that the charge controller isn’t working properly. In addition, repeatedly trips the breaker on my home charger. The dealership won’t troubleshoot the issue because after the first 12V failure (at six months) I replaced it with an AGM since they are more resilient to charge level issues. The dealership said all the sensors and diagnostics rely on the characteristics of the OEM battery. So…we just wait for catastrophic failure. I never would have bought this car if I knew how unreliable it has been for so many people. The dealership had a significant backlog of people waiting over a month for the replacement ICCU to ship. It is too risky a purchase for my sense of safety and security. I made a mistake buying it.

battery has to be replaced after only 1300 miles

I love the ioniq5, except that the battery has to be replaced after less than 1300 miles, and it appears it will take at least a month to get that done

Ironiq 5

How ironiq that Hyundai has requested a survey, when they will provide no word on the expected return of my vehicle, which is currently not in use due to a defective and unsafe battery. My car is one year old, with only 6,800 miles and is completely out of commission with Hyundai corporate keeping their employees and consumers in the dark about when a safe battery will be available. Absolutely shameful and negligent. My case manager is nice enough to tell me there is no ETA on my battery. Stories are it could take 3-6 months! This is a known defect that Hyundai issued a Technical Bulletin in April 2025, yet no fix or relief to the consumer.

Great Vehicle!

I’ve really enjoyed my 2025 ionic five SEL so far. The ride is amazing and the instant torque still makes me smile every time I drive. I wish I would’ve gone all the electric sooner. This is a very good car. No regrets here!

Excellent EV with Minor Software Quirks

The vehicle has been excellent overall. It’s smooth, efficient, quiet, and very comfortable to drive. Charging performance and real-world range have met expectations, and the overall build quality feels solid. It’s an easy car to live with day to day and makes commuting and longer trips enjoyable. There are a few minor software quirks, but nothing that outweighs the strengths of the vehicle. Overall, it’s a great EV and I’m very happy with it.

good when it works

The vehicle was in need of a new HV battery since day 1, and out of commission for 3 months. So obviously reliability is really precarious. Additionally Hyundai did not do anything to make the process easier. They did procide a gas tucson, but did not provide any update on the process, and made the whole situation quite frustrating. The dealership was also useless and did not support the process after selling the vehicle to me.

Great handling and accelerating electric vehicle to drive. Has a few issues to resolve with passenger door not opening from inside, left windshield wiper drag/long smudge streak issue, wider parking radius is a little difficult for me, requiring realigning to fit into a lot spot when there are other parked cars. Charging station Plug in requires several attempts before connected for charging for some unknown reason. Overall very enjoyable and fun to drive, and it’s uniquely beautiful.

Almost Perfect

I really love my Ioniq, but there are a bunch of small things that are annoying. For example, I can't set my regenerative braking so that it stays on the highest level. I have to reset it every time I start the car. The controls for the HVAC are also really hard to see sometimes because of glare. And keyless entry through my phone works like 90% of the time. Other than these small annoyances everything else about the car is great.
