The back end is squeaking and floating when driving. Not sure if it is a bad shock absorber or if that is the way the car standardly drives

Great car, but beware of charging away from home

my car is fun to drive, quiet, great acceleration and seems to be well made although I have only been driving it for 2.5 months. It also feels good to me to be driving a car that doesn't use gasoline. My biggest complaint is trying to charge the car away from home. We are out of town for the summer and we also took one trip. I don't have enough time to go into detail an about how frustrating the charging experience has been. I never am sure which app to use to find chargers. My Ionic 5 doesn't seem to list them all. Each app seems to have a slightly different way to pay for the electricity. There are not enough level 3 chargers and level 2 doesn't work well unless it is at your home (which it is in Tucson). The town we are staying in is about 70,000 and only have one charging station with 4 level 3 chargers. Although there is one more at a Chevrolet dealer I can use when they are open. The Tesla chargers in town (I believe there are 8 at one location) are only for Teslas. The Rivian level 3 are only for Rivians. It just seems like a dog's breakfast of level 2 scattered about inconveniently. that is the same situation for my home town of Tucson despite it being a city of 500,000. I knew that charging away from home would take some adjusting but I never imagined it would be this challenging.

Best Vehicle I have Ever Owned!

Hands down the best vehicle I have ever owned. We went from a 2021 ID4 with basically no physical buttons and very unintuitive system configurations to this beauty of a vehicle. It is everything I want in a vehicle, minus the payload capacity... Hyundai, build a real truck!

Great for family road trips

The increased mileage of the 2025 version really gives some piece of mind for road trips. I've already taken it camping in the mountains and on multiple trips to see family. It hits the sweet spot for long range, sufficient cargo space, and comfort.

Too big for me, software lacking.

I didn't realize how big the car was before purchase. I prefer smaller cars so this is a big deal to me. Overall the software is ok, it just needs to be refined. While on a longer trip I used the cars navigation to plan charging stops, it took me to a Tesla charger that wasn't available to non Tesla vehicles. Overall this is a pretty good car, it's just not right for me.

It's fine. I miss my Tesla.

I like it fine. It has a nice fit and finish. It's attractive. The range is good. But it is so finnicky with charging and it doesn't have the same features as my old Tesla Model 3 and the interface with the iPhone app is garbage. About 80% of the time I plug it in to charge at home I get an error. It's always a crapshoot whether the walk-away lock will work, and it takes ages for the car to lock/unlock/start climate control/whatever from the app. The interface is so counterintuitive I struggle to find the right settings to adjust things like seat position for different drivers to persistently adjust depending on whose key opens the car. I never had any software problems with my Tesla and it just had so very, very many features and was so intuitive. That is very much not the case with this car.

Best car I've owned, bar none

As a GM Volt owner, was looking to make the switch to full electric. Live in a rural area, and typical drive would be close to 200 miles or a bit more, so was looking for a car with enough wiggle room on range and capacity that most of the time I could get by with only charging to 80% to increase battery life. Went with the long range battery rear wheel drive. Couldn't be happier with it. Was worried about having enough space to replace our Subaru Outback on Costco & Trader Joe runs, but it handles me & my wife, 3 large coolers & 2 FULL Costco carts of groceries easily without having to Tetris much at all...despite the significantly smaller reported cargo volume! Driving & handling are a dream. I opted for the HUD, and like it. Lane centering is a VERY nice feature, esp on interstate and is MUCH better than lane departure on my old Volt or our Subaru. Getting close to 10k miles, and have only charged up away from home twice, which was really easy at Tesla Super chargers. I have a decent level 2 charger (30A) for my Volt that I installed years ago that is working fine with the adaptor.

Great car, still room for improvement primarily in electronic features

Perfect size, great capacity both in cargo and battery range. I do wish Hyundai would borrow some features from other EVs, and even ICE vehicles. #1, please please please allow for auto door lock when walking away. The car knows i have walked away, it knows it is unlocked, it will send me an email and even ask me I want to lock it! All the components are apparently already in place, please give me the ability to remove myself from this loop. And as an added "bonus", the normally flush door handles will remain popped out so anyone walking by and tell at a moment that your car is unlocked. #2, also triple please, allow my user profile to retain my driving style and braking preference. The fact I have to reelect these every time I enter the vehicle is unnecessary. This is a great car, please make it better.

Truly a well thought out car

I'm used to compromise in most vehicles I've previously used, this feels like the first time I'm making no compromises. Right down to the littlest details, it just feels so well thought out. Also the fact that Hyundai is actually listening to consumers about critical features like CarPlay / Android Auto, instead of trying to gouge customers like every other manufacturer with their own inferior subscription based infotainment solutions... Well done Hyundai. You'll keep winning more customers this way, let your competitors fail.

A Very Good Vehicle with some disappointing qualities

I have the 2025 Ioniq 5 XRT, and while I would definitely recommend the Ioniq 5 to anyone that asks, I'm not sure I would recommend the XRT. My main argument against it is the price, vs the things that you get. It's lifted higher than the normal Ioniq 5 and it's made for more off-roading or sporty activity, but you don't get any of the comfort amenities that one would expect from a vehicle this expensive - no head's up display, no cooled seats, no interior lights that change color... I was expecting these things when I bought it, and was pretty disappointed that they weren't there. Second, the Hyundai trip planning app is kind of abysmal - part of that is the fault of the charging infrastructure and the fact that not all Tesla charging stations are open to non-Tesla's, but I've found it to be overly conservative in how low it allows the battery to get and add unnecessary stops - e.g. I recently drove from Boston, MA to Burlington, VT and began the trip with ~30% battery; it had me charge at 20% to 80% just outside Boston, and then stop again in West Lebanon, NH to again charge at 20% to finish the trip. I could have easily made it to Manchester, NH at the start of the trip and just charged once. I would rather be rolling into the charging stations at 5% - otherwise what is all that capacity for? All of that said, this is a pretty great ride. It's fun to drive. It's quiet. It's responsive. The assisted cruise control with lane switching is excellent. You won't be disappointed if you know exactly what you're getting when you purchase the XRT.
