Fun 2023 Ioniq 5

like the quite, it is quick even with out using the sport mode. the electronic/computer add on funtions are mostly useful. Not that happy with the dash screens, i think they were not well thought out.

A spacious, smart vehicle with upscale feel

The Ioniq 5 was a clear step up from my previous vehicle, a 2015 Hyundai Elantra sedan. Exterior dimensions were very wide, wasn't sure if I could get it into my garage but eventually manoeuvred it by folding the side mirrors with a button push (my SEL model has this but the SE does not). The turning circle is wide, so getting around in narrow spaces can be tricky. The interior space is generous and the centre console is very useful for storing items like handbags for example. Ride is smooth and quiet as one would expect from an EV. Energy efficiency was impressive (over 6 miles/kWh is my record) for urban driving with max regen. I appreciate how Hyundai has kept enough physical controls to make the car feel intuitive to drive, such as separate stalks for the wipers and indicators, and physical climate control and trunk / hood buttons. Also, the ability to control regeneration manually sets Hyundai apart for me vs other EV options. The only thing I would say needs improvement are the two features lacking in 2022-2024 models but which were addressed for the 2025 model year. These are the rear windshield wiper and wireless Android Auto. Although good to have, neither of these are deal breakers for me.

12v system problematic

We love the car overall, but it makes me nervous due to the 12v system. I'm a little afraid because it has failed 2 times. The first time they replaced the 12v battery. The second time they replaced the ICCU control module. The ICCU was on back order for 5 weeks. Other than that it has been good. It does one thing that is strange. It has cooling vents under the front bumper. Whenever they need to open they cycle twice. When they close,they just close. Every time that they open they open then they close right away and then they open again. Doesn't seem right at all. It going to wear it out twice as fast

Love My Ionic 5: US needs mor fast changing stations

I love my Ionic 5. Great performance, trunk space, comfort. My only issue is twice I’ve panicked when I feared I would be stranded with no charge. One of the two times I found a charging station and discovered it had been vandalized. I would like more of the high end safety features on my wife’s Santa Fe Calligraphy.

ICCU issues and software are inexcusable

The car is great to drive but a pain to deal with the software. The ICCU issues make it extremely unreliable and Hyundai refuses to fix the problem

Best car I have ever driven

Electric is the way to go. The Ioniq 5 is comfortable for long drives and is responsive for driving in traffic. The 2 issues I have concerns the lak oa wiper on therear window ane the lack of surround cameras on this model.

Great vehicle

Exceeds virtually all advertised ratings, especially range. It’s not uncommon for me to go 330+ miles on a charge and recharge at a high speed charger is as fast or faster than claimed. Winter not as good, but still not so bad as the stories I have read about other brands.

Fun transportation

The ironic five is an excellent car all the way around the features for the money the warranty everything is excellent. There are a few things I would change about the car, but Hyundai is very good at listening to its customers and I’m sure they’ll come in the future.
