Great vehicle but missing small things

I love driving out ionic 5. Couple of things have been problematic for us because we drive on gravel roads. 1) there is no rear wiper. The amount of sheer dust that comes from our country roads means we have to manually clear the dust off the rear window every time we drive it. 2) it is not an airtight vehicle. The dust gets lodged in the inner parts of all doors, including the trunk and hood. Even though we wash it regularly, the inner parts of every door gets a buildup of dust. In the wintertime we noticed an accumulation of mud INSIDE the doors…it all goes back to not being all that air tight or having a design that does not prevent dust from getting inside the vehicle.

Happy but wondering why….

Am overall very happy with the car. Handles well, very comfortable. Controls are intuitive. No issues charging. I wish it had a rear wiper, the Apple car play didn’t require a plugged-in cable, that the bluelink subscriptions would be included for my model as it is for 2024 onward ($300/year!), and access to basic climate controls (like turning it off!) wasn’t on a sub-menu.

Nice responsiveness. Good features. Poor design.

The responsiveness and pickup of the car is great. It keeps a charge for awhile. The interior is spacious, but I wouldn't call it an SUV. The features are easy to use and provide a lot of convenience. The downsides are the battery, which has died on us and we had to replace already. No one told us about popping the door handle out once it died, so my husband chipped the paint trying to pry it open. Also, the trunk consistently rattles, despite adjusting it several times.

Like the big screens but a challenge to navigate.

using all of the features is somewhat challenging for 60+ people and especially while driving. Do like being able to use navigation by vocal commands.

Inconsistent startIng

Has great features but I’ve had problems with the car starting. Several trips to the dealership and several 12v batteries later and I’m still not confident that the car will start on demand consistently.

Not recommended for friends and families.

25 months since I had the car…. 2 recalls … 2 times 12v battery dead… one time took 10 days to fix with no loaner car offered. The dealership “repair / part department had the worst customer service skills people work there, I am nervous just to think about needing to go in for a recall or service. San Bruno Hyundai dealership .

Love the car; do not love Hyundai service and culture

car drives great. But has a few annoying flaws. 1. it needs a rear window wiper/washer; 2. the turn radius is sub-par making it hard to park; 3. could come in better/more colors

Game Changer

The IONIQ 5 is the best vehicle I have ever owned. Not only is it a joy to drive, but I feel safer commuting in heavy traffic. I would recommend this car to anyone who has the ability to install a charger at home and wants to have fun driving. This EV is definitely zippy, you really get an enjoyable driving experience and it will also warn you of all the traffic dangers around you. I put over 25,000 miles a year on this car including driving in heavy traffic, heavy snow and -20F temps.

2023 Ionic 5

Love how it drives, although have had to balance the tires more often than recommended. There was a rattle on the back hatchback that was fixed and came back twice. The buttons and knobs on the dash could be more driver friendly. Difficult to adjust while driving so it forces you to use voice commands. EV prices have come down significantly since I bought it in 2023 so I’m underwater. Lots of safety features. Came with two years of free charging and a year of SiriusXM

Great car with a few monor flaws

Great car to drive around. My only true beef is that there is no rear wiper, which makes the window useless in bad weather. Great interior, good control layout. Very peppy and sporty, if you choose to drive it hard, but also great for normal driving.
