Love some features and hate others.

When I test drove the car I initially hated the gear shifter. It is completely unintuitive. I decided that it would be okay after I trained my brain how to use it. Wrong decision; I should have looked at other vehicles. I could write a dissertation about the issues with this shifter. For me one of the big selling points of this car was the 360 view camera. This I love. I love the looks of the car, the handling and the comfort. I hate that sometimes I hate that sometimes the car gets confused when get in, start it and get an error message when I try to put it in gear. The service manger told me to "reboot" the car by turning it off, opening and closing the driver's door, turning it on and then it would work. Yes that fixed it and it's only happened 3 times but why should it happen at all. Then there's the gas mileage which at about 30mpg around town is not much more than the gas engine Subaru Outback I traded in. I should have held out for either a plug-in hybrid or a full EV. But would they have that same stupid shifter? And then there's the up to two second pause which occurs when I'm creeping forward at a stop sign and when I floor it the car creeps forward slowly and after about two seconds accelerates normally. This is especially dangerous when entering a traffic circle. I was told that it was because the engine had turned off. But why didn't the electric drive kick in then?

Lower operating costs

I like the appearance of the Tucson and the Amazon gray color is very uncomfortable ride. It’s a hybrid gas mileage situation getting between 38 and 40 MPG. The ride it’s comfortable. I do enjoy the safety features such as collision warning and lane King. These are all the reasons why I like the Tucson.

Just One Thing!

I traded in my 2022 Tucson SEL for the 2026Tucson hybrid blue. When I did the test drive, everything seemed on par with the SEL. It wasn't until after delivery that I realized there was one very important thing that wasn't what I expected. Which is why I removed a star. Since I'm retired, I don't require a lot of bells and whistles. All I need is a basic vehicle. My SEL had the push button liftgate which I find very helpful. Since I am in my mid 70s and I do a lot of chauffeuring for kin who are more elderly than I am, having the push button liftgate is key. I didn't realize it was missing until I got ready to use the trunk and realized that it was all manual. Because everything else was on par to my SEL, I never even gave it a second thought. My salesman had already opened the liftgate to move the things from my trade-in into the new one, so I didn't even miss it. Otherwise, everything was as expected. As far as drive capability is concerned, I don't know whether it's because it's a hybrid or a newer car, but the steering doesn't seem to be as solid as my 2022, and occasionally the brakes feel a little "touchy," for lack of a better word. Oh! One more thing. The hybrid blue doesn't have a sun/moon roof, which is fine. I think on my SEL I might've used it three times in the nearly 4 years that I had it.

It’s like driving a spaceship!

We love how fully customizable is it for each driver and how easy it is to switch between profiles. It has all the bells and whistles we’re looking for. I was hesitant about the heads up display, but I’ve come to love it, and wouldn’t ever want to go back to searching the dashboard for speed and navigation.

Comfort and style are great. Technology can be overwhelming.

The passenger seat and 2nd row seats somewhat obstruct the drivers view when checking for traffic from a stopped position. Ergonomic seat comfort and reliability is a plus. More compliments on the design of the wheel covers.
