My First PHEV

this has been a great entry into the world of electric vehicles. Around town, I can average over 80 equivalent mpg. It would be nice if the electric only mileage was a bit more that just 30 miles so I could get to the ski area that is 35 miles away and back on almost one charge. I bought the Sante Fe partly because of the higher ground clearance and AWD and 4 WD locking for driving in deep snow. I'm not sure the 19" tires are necessary $$$$ and would like narrower tires for snow travel. Also, the cabin space accommodates my skis in winter and fly rods in Summer. Overall, a great vehicle.

Very pleased with my purchase

First EV hybrid plug in experience. Car makes a hybrid whine that took a while to accept as normal. I get @50mpg on the freeway with a full tank of gas and a fully charged plug in battery. Lot of space for 4 people and luggage. Comfortably ride. Lots of safety messages on the dashboard. Car interior feel up scaled.

Too many issues

The car was great in the first few months but soon there were many issues that came up. Hyundai is the least helpful when it comes to solving any of the issues.

The hyundai is a nice vehicle. As someone who who only wants his car to be dependable and reliable it hits the mark. The battery life of the hybrid could be better.Ghe interface for the radio is messy but the performance of the car is good.

Great PHEV SUV, could be better

The vehicle is spaces and luxurious. Almost everything I could ask for. The charging capacity rate is slow. Not enough information and or help out there to learn how to quickly charge the vehicle. In addition, the vehicle could be program to gas only and have it charge the battery. Sometimes, you have to feather the peddle so that it is charging.

A great vehicle

We bought this car because we can charge it at the house and drive it to work for a few days before recharging. On a roadtrip we run it on gas because it charges too slow for that kind of driving. That is the flexibility we wanted. We get gas about once every three months! All of the car's systems are great - it is very safe and that back up camera has saved us a couple of times. There are maybe two things I would change. I would prefer that the cruise control be a little more intuitive. I had to look up how to use it because it was not obvious. And I would prefer that the doors ALL unlock when you get out - I know that is a safety feature but I always forget. All of the climate stuff, the sound system, the seats, all of it is really luxurious and works great.

Outstanding SUV

This is the first new car that I have owned in my life (I'm in my 60s). It has been outstanding. My goal for a new car included (a) SUV - type performance with AWD/4WD + some light to medium towing capacity (b) PHEV drive system With 28000 miles on the car, I'm getting 94 mpg! This is not a typo: 94 mpg. More accurately, gasoline costs about four times as much as electricity in terms of "cost per mile" so the PHEV function means that my "gasoline" is costing about $1.25/gal. Yet another way to look at it; of the 28000 miles on the car, the gasoline engine is responsible for only about 8000 of the miles, and thus is experiencing very low wear (electric motors have essentially 1 moving part, and naturally experience low wear). The car is comfortable for driver and passengers. I'm not accustomed to all of the comfort features that the car offers and which (frankly) I mostly haven't used. There are *many* features of the car that I haven't used re: the substantial computer support. I would recommend keeping the basic BlueLink support, however.

2023 santa fe hybrid

I like this car very much. I would suggest changing the center console - the storage compartment is fine but there is additional open space below that I keep things in. Those items can be seen by others (so has to stay tidy) and are difficult to reach while driving.
