They know there is a problem but they can’t fix it without a computer code to tell them what the problem is. What happened to mechanics who could diagnose and repair problems without a computer?

I had an oil change appointment at 11am. They close at 12pm and I asked them to take a look at my AC because it wasn't cold and see if I need a free on charge. He didn't know if they would have time to. And at 12:15pm he came in and asked if I needed my tires rotated, which I did. So they stayed an extra hour to fix my AC and rotate my tires past their closing time so I wouldn't have to come back.
