2025 Hyundai Tucson SEL Convenience Trim Review
I recently purchased my 2025 Tucson SEL Convenience as a replacement for my 2020 Hyundai Sonata SEL Plus. My husband and I are getting a bit older and while the Sonata was a wonderful vehicle, its low ground clearance was becoming a bit of a challenge for us to enter and get out of the vehicle. We were looking for a comparable vehicle with higher ground clearance and we did a LOT of research. We researched/looked at other makes and models of vehicles as well as other Hyundai models. Eventually, we landed on the Hyundai Tucson as our choice for many reasons. It has more features than other makes/models in its class at the same price point and also has a much better/longer standard warranty. Its fuel efficiency is comparable if not better than many other makes/models in its class. The cabin is spacious for its class and honestly feels as if you are in a much larger vehicle. The ride is great and it handles well. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five (wish I could have given 4-1/2) boils down to two ergonomic issues. Firstly, the center console opening sits a bit back of the driver seat position requiring the driver to almost turn around to reach into the compartment. The second issue is that the panel containing the adjustments for the AC, Defrosters and Seat Heaters is inadequately lighted. During the daytime, it is very hard to see the controls because they are too dim. The orange bars that indicate the level of heat for the seats and the level of the Auto AC function are especially hard to see. At night is a bit better, but because they automatically dim a bit when the lights are on at night, it is not much better.
