Good but could be a little better

I have greatly enjoyed the Santa Fe. We have one of the base models. It is very well equipped, has a smooth ride and quiet cabin. Love that the 2nd row fits our 6'2 son extremely well, especially on road trips. Only negative I have is the gear shifter placement, bad spot. I have hit it thinking it was the wiper blades and nearly shifted gears mid drive, NOT good. Other downside is 2nd row vents are terrible placed, front ones are not the greatest either but not as bad as 2nd row. 3rd row is good, and it has a separate controller for that row. Lastly, the phone charging area gets direct hit from sun and I have had to charge using the cord to hide my phone from overheating. Outside of this, it is comfortable, great ride, dependable and the 3 year comp. maintenance plan is terrific.

Smooth ride. Good acceleration. Some controls confusing. Had 4 recalls in first year. Brake light fell off (screws left out in assembly. Purchased because of past positive experience with Hyundai but this was a letdown so far.

In one year I had a water pump replaced.

I’m disappointed with the 24 Santa Fe due to the poor performance.

Enjoy driving, although there are a few annoyances.

It was a mistake to have 21 inch wheels with low profile tires. Although I love the look of the Santa Fe with the low profile, it is not practical for travel on highways and pothole scared roads.

I love this car!

I have been 100% happy with my Santa Fe Calligraphy. It has everything I could ask for in a car and more - the heads up display, the self driving mode, fantastic stereo. Also, my Santa Fe is the Matt Bronze model and I get compliments on it where ever I go. My wife told me to get what I wanted because it would be the last new car I bought and with My Santa Fe, I am all right with that.
