I hate the sensor. Worst addition ever.

I don’t like the car-I absolutely hate the smart sensor over the steering wheel. It is so unsafe. Today I was driving and the sun was hitting it just right and it repeatedly slammed on the brakes turns off cruise control and yells at you to take control of vehicle- it’s awful.

Not what I was expecting

When we got it, we loved it, our very first new car. Now, it has had recall after recall, and if memory serves, it had to get the rotors replaced within the first six months due to them being warped. Now we drive it the least of the 3 Hyundais we have (24 Santa Cruz, and 25 Palisade). The dash interface is way better than the other 2, but I am fixing to have to take it back in (at 25k miles) for an issue with the shocks on the driver's side.

Great for an outdoors person

I love the engine on my Santa Fe, the layout, and so far it's ability to handle on different terrains. However I hate the driver attention camera, it often shuts off my cruise control and slows down when I am literally staring at the camera. I also hate that I cannot rest my hands the way I prefer on the steering wheel due to this camera. Also for the cost of the car I was disappointed Hyundai did not put in a garage opener on the mirror. This and the camera will be why I trade my car in for different brand. Also disappointed that while my sisters calligraphy model has a built in tow hitch when she is never going to use it. My car that is more suitable and more likely to tow something does not have a tow hitch. Overall while I like my car, I do not love it because of these issues and even though this is my second Hyundai it will be my last. Thank you for listening. I truly hope this helps!

1)the fingerprint option rarely works. 2) the camera function on the steering wheel is horrible. I can’t get it to turn off. I can never wear sunglasses and operate the cruise. It always shuts off saying face is not visible. 3) the lane assist is not smooth. Seems to overcorrect.

Overall Great Vehicle!

Overall, great vehicle! Looks good, generally drives good, excellent power and gas mileage. Interior is comfortable. The tech on the vehicle, though, can be sometimes overwhelming. I don't like the steering column shift lever. The suspension could be a bit stiffer, especially when cornering.

Best bang for your buck combustion engine full sized SUV on the market

I test drove over 15 similar vehicles looking for the one with the most modern technology features, including driving assistance. The Hyundai Santa Fe was the best combustion engine SUV you can get for the price. With features better than any base model BMW, Lexus, or Mercedes, the Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy trim is everything you could as for.

Nice looking car, but has its issues

had it in the shop for over three weeks, and was very close to lemon law status. Replaced transmission after only 30k miles. Even now I really don’t like the transmission, it’s very laggy and whiney. Brakes and rotors went bad after 8k miles. Driver eye tracking doesn’t work with polarized sunglasses, so can’t use cruise control while driving during the day. Aside that it looks nice and rides smooth. Not keeping the car for long.

What I like and I don’t like

I like my car but it’s little things that I don’t like, like I wish the 2 row had air/heat control panels and wish the screen was bigger and wish the sunroof was just 1 and not a sunroof and moon roof. And I wish the dealership was better with custom service with they customers
