Worst service

I purchased my 2024 Santa Fe brand new off the truck from the factory. 13 months later it stopped running. It took 5 months to process the repurchase. Then I purchased a 2025 Santa Fe and 5 days later with 275 miles on it the transmission went out and needs to be replaced. I have been without my vehicle for another 3 weeks now. This is unacceptable service.

Just missed the mark for this long time Hyundai owner

I really wanted to love this car because, on paper, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has a lot going for it. The redesign looks great, the interior is modern, and it is packed with technology for the price. The screens, driver assist features, and overall interior layout feel very upscale. The first and second rows are comfortable, and the ride itself is smooth and enjoyable for everyday driving. Hyundai also marketed this model as having a third row, which sounds like a big plus for families. Unfortunately, in reality, the third row is extremely uncomfortable and honestly almost not worth having. It’s very tight, and I can’t imagine anyone sitting back there for long. On top of that, when the third row is up the trunk space basically disappears, so do not plan on a third row and luggage or shopping. Another frustrating design choice is that the third row doesn’t fold automatically. It takes effort to fold up and down, and it becomes a hassle if you need to switch between passenger space and storage. My biggest issue, though, has been reliability and service. My 2024 Santa Fe has been in the shop multiple times already. Getting things fixed has been a challenge and it often feels like you have to fight to get issues addressed. On top of that, the dealership never seems to have loaner cars available, so you really need to have a backup vehicle if your car needs service. In fact, I ended up keeping my 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe because I don’t trust the reliability of my 2024 enough to rely on it as my only vehicle. One more thing I would strongly caution buyers about: I bought the matte paint finish and I would not recommend it. It looks nice at first, but it is extremely difficult to maintain and keep looking good. Overall, the 2024 Santa Fe has a lot of nice features and a beautiful interior, but between the impractical third row, lack of cargo space with it in use, and the reliability/service frustrations, it hasn’t lived up to expectations for me.

I hate the matte paint. When the vehicle Was sold to me the salesman did not disclose the extensive care of the paint. When I discovered the up keep of the paint I called the salesman and questioned him about it and he said. “I had no idea” …this infuriated me. Stuck with a vehicle that required hand washing and parking where no one will walk past and accidentally scratch because there is no protection on this paint. I am too old to deal with this and will get rid of the vehicle As soon as I financially can with being up side down in a car. This has cause great distress to me.

Sluggish wet sponge, too smart for its own good

The Santa Fe is a very nice but very bad car. Handles like a wet sponge - slow to respond (horrible turbo lag), squishy brakes, lots of body roll. And it's convinced that it's much smarter than you are - don't dare try to put anything in the tow hitch (like a bike rack, or heaven forbid a trailer) because the rear safety sensors will be convinced that there's a pedestrian behind the car and won't let you back up without going six screens deep into the infotainment menu to manually turn the system off EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU GET IN THE CAR. And the multiple driver profiles seem like a good idea, but you have to use your finger print on an unreliable sensor or enter a code to get access to any of the vehicle's functional menus (again) EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU GET IN THE CAR. And don't you dare look away from the road for half a second (or wear sunglasses at all) while the cruise control is on because the camera will sense that you're not looking at the road and turn your cruise control off. Lastly, I hope you like that ridiculous six-note chime the car plays when you turn the engine off and open the door, because there's no way to turn it off. The frustrations of driving and living with this horrible thing aside, it is a very comfortable highway cruiser once it gets up to speed, and it does offer a lot of features for the price. But overall, it took just over a year for us to tire of dealing with a car that made life so dang hard, and it had to go.

Lemon lawed in less than a year

The car is pretty. The quality is terrible. Transfer case, axel, transmission, and all tires were replaced within 1 year of owning it and the problem with the car shaking when driven still wasn’t resolved. Hyuandai’s care team made it clear they wanted every penny from me when they demanded I spend $1300 to fix a crack in my windshield the day before I signed it over to them under the lemon law case they delayed for 6 months. Will never buy a Hyuandi again.

Nice vehicle

I’ve been driving my 2024 Santa Fe XRT for a while now, and overall I’m really enjoying it. It drives smooth and feels solid on the road, especially during longer trips. The interior is impressively soundproof — road noise is minimal, which makes highway driving much more comfortable. The driving assistance features are a big highlight for me. They make daily commuting and road trips feel safer and less stressful. It’s also surprisingly fuel efficient for its size, and honestly, it’s just fun to drive. If I had one critique, the transmission can feel a little sticky at times, especially in Sport mode. It’s not a deal breaker, but it’s noticeable. Overall, it’s a comfortable, practical SUV that balances efficiency, tech, and driving enjoyment really well. Great choice for families or anyone who loves road trips.
