It would be nice to be able to have more control over the infotainment screen and to have a permanent shutoff for the engine stop when idle.

Review

Overall, great car. One issue is wind blowing into the car from around the top of the driver’s door. Very noisy and irritating. Dealer said there was nothing wrong. I would never have bought the car if I had known that the wind noise is “normal”.

Would rate it at 5 stars but...

This is a great vehicle, but it has a few quirks. The engine does not accelerate smoothly. It's like the turbo has huge lag, and when it catches up, it's a huge power surge. The transmission also seems to roll backwards when on a slight hill. Very disturbing.

I Love My Santa Fe!

I bought the elite package and I love all the features for the price. Some of the sensors can be sensitive but I suspect that’s with all cars and improves with technology enhancements.

Great value for the money

Have found vehicle responsive and comfortable. Display info is extensive, sound is good. Lots of interior room. Engine and fuel maintenance needed to avoid issues. Recalls haven't been of significance, compared to other makes.

This is my fifth Hyundai. Our youngest girls each got an Accent for graduation and I purchased a Tucson. We later bought another Accent and after 12 years I purchased the Sante Fe.

Great stuff hauler

So nice to finally have a comfortable smooth and quiet ride, and one that is still capable of hauling stuff. The hatch is pretty vertical compared to most SUVs that slope in and lose so much storage space. The back seats lay pretty flat so can set things on them with minimal risk of tipping. And such a smooth ride to boot.

Very reliable vehicle

I have not had any issues with this Santa Fe except factory recalls (which are few). I’ve had owned a different Hyundai vehicle since they came to the USA. They all have been very good with no major issues with any of them.
