Fits my needs at this age and stage of life
I'm pleased with my Santa Fe overall. The doors open wide enough to let me get my disabled legs into the driver seat position, I enjoy the power driver's seat too (although I could use a memory function -- given that there are times that I have to have someone else drive me to my medical appointments since I'm not allowed to drive after certain procedures. I have enough cargo bay area (with the 2nd row seats down) to simply slide in my Wheelchair and my Walker so that I can have them at all times when traveling or doing things. I have enjoyed the power plug in the Cargo bay that allows me to plug in an inverter (for charging computers) or a plug for my Travel/Truck Fridge.
NOW for the problems --
1. The Door handle itself is a DESIGN FAIL -- that plastic piece where it holds the pivot point FAILS RATHER DRAMATICALLY quickly enough. Needless to say, given that I don't walk (hence the wheelchair), this IS A problem overall (Yes, it happened to me, and I was told at the dealership that I needed to just crawl through the passenger side to open the driver door (Seriously -- what about MY LEGS are non-responsive (disabled) was it that wasn't obvious in the first place? But after a bit of time, they finally let me have a loaner while they replaced the part. I KNOW this will fail again (because the part was NEVER designed properly) -- so yes, I DREAD this happening in the future.
2. I am also IRRITATED that Hyundai took away the FOLDING POWER Mirrors (hey, Again, I am a wheelchair user, so I fold my mirrors in so I can ROLL PAST my closed doors onto the ramp when parking and when getting my Wheelchair back into the vehicle too -- THIS IS CRITICAL when you don't walk!)
3. Whoever took away the Garage Door opener function ALSO did the customers wrong too. Given I am disabled, I have power LIFT garage doors (yes, those too) that I can remotely trigger (they are an app on my Android Smartphone). IF you could add that back, I would be far happier overall.
