Solid vehicle, but convenience features could be better

I have no major concerns with the way the vehicle operates. The transmission jerks around a bit in slow-moving/stop-and-go traffic, but that seems to be a common thing with the type of transmission. My biggest complaint, which is honestly a minor inconvenience at worst, is that the climate controls are not as customizable as I’d like (like I can auto-start and then will step into a wind tunnel when I’d really just need mid-speed fans and I’ll add to the long list of people that want physical buttons), wireless CarPlay would make more sense since there’s a wireless charging station, and being able to actually turn off headlights and running lights so I don’t blind people inside when I am parking. Again, solid overall and gets lots of compliments so it’s doing the job a car should do.

My Santa Cruz

I have enjoyed my new Santa Cruz a lot. It is great to drive. Very smooth for the short wheelbase. The only big issue is the bed cover. It is great looking. Seems secure. But, leaks when it rains or thru the car wash. Makes the bed almost unusable for anything that can’t get wet. I realize the manual says it is water resistive, but I am surprised at how much it leaks. I did have it back to dealer for adjustment but it didn’t help much. I guess I may have to remove it and replace it with a better cover. Dealership should warn potential customers of this potential leak issue.

Steering and handling needs improvement as does the gas mileage.

Not a bad car, back seat too small, gas mileage not good, the auto steering features fight with the driver and is dangerous.

I feel like I'm in a grand SUV and a muscular truck at the same time.

Great in the winter but better in the spring and summer. Windows down and music playing. Feeling the breeze along the way. I haven't been happier with any other vehicle I have owned.

2024 Santa Cruz

I put 30k miles on my SC in 1 year, reliability has been near 100% only problem occurred early on with a failed headlamp module. Ride, comfort flexibility of use and mpg have all been as expected or better.

Overall very nicer

Overall, has been very reliable. Three noticeable issues: 1. Build quality on driver's door; fit is off causing some air leaks around the moldings 2. Seats are turning out to be somewhat uncomfortable. 3. Rolling button for controlling the radio is a real pain

Ideal size for urban life.

Nothing large to haul any more so we no longer need a 3/4 ton truck. We live in town now and our Santa Cruz has proven to be the ideal size for urban living and is still a pleasure to travel in.
