More people should know
To date: Almost 60k miles, used as a work vehicle ie hospice RN for a time so hours in car daily. Hauled near max bed weight several times. Standouts:
1) Road trip from Dauphin Island, AL to Grand Canyon, entered several closed parking lots, closed because of 13" of fresh snow. In and out no problem, passing several stuck vehicles each time with emergency vehicle on site helping. Comfortable over thousands of miles; wife 6' tall with a stocky husband, two medium GSP dogs.
2) Taking a washed up 30'+ tree off the beach at daybreak before the authorities could ask questions. Cut and topped with a birdhouse now.
3) Looking at a ridiculously muddy bayou road that was closed to any sensible traffic and saying Yes! Stock Michelin tires went several hundred yards through incredibly sticky mud. Smart pause at lightly sticky and muddy spot and did the whole thing in reverse! Got stuck as I jammed the brakes to avoid hitting steel entry/exit barrier, and rocked out until I remembered lock button. Pushed and out we flew from the front end buried three feet in the mud, a shiny little low bumper molding left behind and flashing in the sunlight. Retrieved and threw in the trunk, never thought about again.
4) Safely trailering 23' trailer near max weight into several places with family ( wife and dogs ) piling out of the truck and setting up. Meeting friends at the campsite from their own trailers and hitting the waterfall trail or doing the weekly bicycle long trip or century etc.
5) Hauled home a huge welder and plasma cutter purchased at auction for home creative projects.
6) Ditto wood working, and etc.
7) Putting boat in the water when we have one.
8) Napping in the seats before hitting the Appalachian or other trailhead. Napping after hiking haha because my legs/body are too tired to go anywhere.
9) Loading the back with ice, drinks, crab, and oysters and enjoying watching the professional movers handle the move.
I've hauled wood 12' in length home 40 miles, ditto plywood, rock and gravel, plants and trees. We picked our day old chickens up from the post office and popped the box for the forst time in the Santa Cruz. I've owned and hauled with 3/4 and 1 ton trucks and while the scale isn't commercial, it is more than enough for residential with improved ride handling and comfort over any full size truck.
Please do better commercials/marketing. It's been three great years of ownership and I only now see more on the road locally.
