Disappointed 2024 Palisade: Step Back from My Beloved 2020 Model

I purchased the 2024 Hyundai Palisade after owning and absolutely loving the 2020 version. I was excited for the upgrade, especially with the unique exterior color and beautifully designed interior. At first, the vehicle delivered as expected ; it drove smoothly and felt like a true improvement. However, over the past few months, I have experienced a deeply concerning issue: the emergency braking system has been activating abruptly while driving, even when there is no vehicle ahead or immediate obstacle. What started as an occasional glitch has become frequent and unpredictable. I no longer feel safe driving it, and I certainly do not feel comfortable allowing my teenage child to get driving practice in this vehicle, which is currently our only car. It is now at Buerkle Hyundai for diagnostics, and I am hoping for a resolution. I truly wanted to love this car as much as my last one, but this experience has been frustrating and alarming. If anyone is considering this model, I recommend asking very specific questions about the safety systems and how common these types of malfunctions have been.

Comfortable but technology is too much

This car has comfortable seats and a nice drive. I really like the parking camera and the big screen for the backup camera. However, it has far too many beeps and boops that apparently can not be turned off-- they do not make me safer. If anything, they startle me and make me less safe. If you are backing up, you do not need to be warned about something in front of you. That's just alarming for no reason. It does not brake well on non-pavement surfaces such as gravel. The feature where the car freezes and refuses to move if it thinks you are going to get in a crash is an absolute hazard and has put me in actual danger in the middle of a road for no reason more than once. Not being able to lock the car from the fob while in the vehicle is also dumb. If I leave a passenger (legally old enough) in the car, they can not lock themselves in for safety using the fob. If I lock the car from the outside with the fob and the passenger moves at all, the alarm goes off. These may be nice safety features for someone with a baby, but not for me, and I would like the ability to turn that off. I do not need the car seat to move and hug me if it thinks I am not sitting up straight enough for its liking. I do not need to be reminded to have a coffee at odd intervals (sometimes 10 mintes into a drive, sometimes no warning hours into a drive-- no rhyme or reason). Lastly, you can not find your car in a parking garage because the beep from the fob isn't loud enough, which can not be adjusted.

Needed to replace tires after 19k miles, forced to pay for new tires

The inside the the vehicle is great for a family but I will never buy another Hyundai vehicle as they don’t stand by the products on the vehicle. The tires that came with the vehicle only lasted 19,000 miles when they should have gone for 50,0000 miles. The dealership where I purchased the car blamed me. Then sold me on selling me Michelin tires at a discount, when they were selling me cheap tiger paw tires.

Style and Comfort

This vehicle has all the features and comfort of the luxury brands and a fraction of the price (still high). The leather interior and seating comfort is second to none. The buttons and dashboard is a bit utilitarian and could definitely be improved. Overall, the vehicle has been fine and I have not run into any problems; I've only driven it for a year and 7,000 miles.

It’s okay

Drive well and has lots of safety features but it’s uncomfortable for longer drives and this model has lots of mechanical issues. My first Palisade never had any.

Very pleased that we chose the Hyundai Palisade 2024

The Palisade is a very smooth and comfortable ride. It handles well and feels very safe. The vehicle has great pick up and decent gas mileage for a larger SUV around 22 mpg using regular gasoline. There is a nice amount of storage and rear seat/3rd row are fairly easy to use. The far rear seat is also heated. I love the light grayish modern interior. I wish the side mirrors closed when parked. I've had it a year and still learning some features. Plan to keep it for a long time.
