With all vehicles, each have their flaws

Car rides great. Space is excellent. But 6 months into ownership, my car had a dead battery due to a parasitic drain in the car. Dealer wasn’t able to find a fix. Sunroof occasionally doesn’t respond. For a car that costs this much you would expect it to work as it should.

I am very happy with my Kona

I am enjoying driving my Kona. He is very good on the roadway. I love all the cameras in my car. The size is just right. The trunk is a good size to accommodate my husband's walker. Very sporty looking!

I loved this car

This car was my favorite car. I was devastated when it got totaled. I was bummed that it didn’t have wireless CarPlay and I hated the positioning of where the wireless charger was located because my phone didn’t fit mostly and when it did the wireless charging was inconsistent. Very smooth ride and I liked the design and look of the vehicle

It was a great experience

Great safety features with no automatic trunk release. The color was too dark. The highway mileage was great. Driving on the highway was great. It’s feel was smooth and steady.It was very economical on gas.

Battery problems

I love my car until this January which was 10months after I bought it, it started having battery issues. I left the country for 2 weeks and came home to a dead battery that wouldn’t hold a charge. The dealer replaced it under warranty. I didn’t think much of it until around March where it kept happening again. Dead battery, I’d charge/jump it, it’ll hold for 1 use, then it dies again. I once again took it back to the dealer and they said it’s another “faulty” battery so they replaced it once again. I shouldn’t be having these problems within a year of having a brand new vehicle. Unfortunately, they really can’t provide me with any answers as to why this keeps happening. Other than that, I love how it drives and I love the bells and whistles it comes with.

Kona is all I want it to be.

I love my Kona and get lot of compliments on it. Drives beautiful and has so many safety features. Besides those it is easy to navigate the computer system, I am still learning. A few question but overall I am still in love with my car!

The tablet part sucks

The vehicle is great the computer portion that allows you to use voice call etc...SUCKS. 1/2 the time it tells me it can't do what i ask it to do even though it did the same thing every day for a week. Then for a week it doesn't do it, then it does. I hate that tablet.

Mostly wonderful

Low range in cold weather is worse than expected. Blue link will only work while phone is in car, so no pre-starting in winter and cannot charge above 80%. Dealer could not fix this. Everything else is fine.

Wanted to love it but it has some disappointments

I fell in love with the way this new design looks on the Kona, and was so excited to get my hands on one last year. The interior is great, and all of the extras on the LIMITED model are awesome. I was hoping to love it, but I got stranded a few times with a dead battery, after only driving the car for less than a year. I am hoping the problem was fixed recently with a software update & recall. Fingers crossed! The reason I got a new car was for peace of mind, safety and reliability. Being stranded in the winter is not something that should happen with a new vehicle. So in the meantime I drive around with a battery charger and jumper box in my trunk-which is insane to have to do with a new car. The only other main complaint I have is the transmission on hills. It lurches sometimes either going up or down hills when you have the car in Sport mode. It feels a bit weak in that area of driving performance. The fact that you can't turn off the automatic rear trunk from opening is also actually a big downside for me. I was hoping to use a trailer hitch bike rack but you can't go near the rear of the car without that door opening up. These are the kinds of things you don't realize until you've owned the car for a few months. Overall it really is a nice vehicle, and would recieve a much better review but having been stranded from the dead battery has left a bad taste in my mouth unfortunately, and has ruined my trust. :-(

Amazing small SUV that does everything right and it is a lot of fun !

I have nothing but praise for this little CUV. My daughter primarily drives it but I drive it too at least once a week and I absolutely love this Hyundai Kona. The vehicle has lots of space in the trunk too and the Apple CarPlay integration is amazing too.

Very reliable. Fun to drive. Complicated software.

Great car. Complicated electronics. After a year and watching many videos, I still can't figure out how to get to the tire pressure screen. If someone can send me clear instructions or call and walk me through it, that would be appreciated.

My First Hyundai

I continue to be very pleased with my Hyundai Kona. Earlier I had two issues with a dead battery, but was extremely pleased with the speed of roadside assistance program and follow-up service. I haven’t had any more problems since an update seemed to fix the issue in the 2024 Kona. My five star rating is for all the cameras and safety features and driving comfort. It has great technology. I can confidently recommend the brand.

Useful, comfortable, reliable, excellent all-around car.

The most comfortable and useful car I'd owned. Because of circumstances, I traded it after only a year and 6,000 miles of driving. I hated to see it go and may consider an electric Kona in the future. All around excellent car.

I love the color. The size is just what I was looking for. The heated steering wheel was a requirement for me. The dog loves the height of the back seat. It could use a few more cubby holes for storage behind the seats or a little larger ones in the doors. The storage in back is smaller than I anticipated.

Futuristic vibes! Everyone ask me about it and love the dashboard.

Great Value! Everyone is happy with my car. I made a great decision. Perfect for moving day for my daughter's college. Love it! It has been a great investment. Excellent features! My first car in 1985 was a Hyundai Accent and now they have advanced their game greatly.

Initial comparative review

The 2024 Kona is substantial but not the most quiet internal ride. The electronics are comparatively sophisticated but surprised when a speed 'limit' appears on the dash and limits acceleration. The seats are standard and average comfort that could be improved. Exterior and interior colors are average ,very limited, and not comparable with available choices in other brand vehicles.

Kona Limited is the Best Subcompact SUV

The Kona Limited is the best subcompact SUV in the U.S.A. I love all the features, the performance, roominess for a small car and the luggage capacity. Two minor problems are 1) the lack of seat memory for the driver’s seat, and 2) a difficult-to-read dark map on the home screen. The second problem could be easily fixed with a software update, but Hyundai has not done so.

To many issues already.

Engine light came on already. Had to replace the shocks already, wipers, and the digital screens keep crashing. It only has 14,000 miles and already had to replace engine cooling parts. It over corrects itself way to much.

The first few miles the battery wouldn't hold a charge.

The new Kona is comfortable, but not as comfortable as my 2019 Premium. Why must the tailgate go up so high? The Limited model also a little pricey. We would also prefer the old Sunset Orange, instead of the red.
