Fantastic car. Sad it was discontinued. Please bring it back, Hyundai!
I bought my 2022 Hyundai Accent SE new on 8-31-22, white/beige interior. Traded in a 2014 version of the same model, after I learned the Accent had been discontinued, and I got one of the last ones. It is the perfect size for driving and parking, great acceleration, excellent handling (on the road, getting into tight parking spots, etc.), comfortable, good gas mileage, minimal maintenace. I am a musician, and the sound system is very good, although I wish I had the option to include a CD player, as CDs are still in use, and I have a large collection, as well, that I have not copied to iTunes. I am a petite woman, and this is the only car that isn't too small or too big for me, and is a safe enough size and frankly doesn't feel like a piece of junk. The Elantra felt too big for me when I test drove it. My Accent's trunk space is excellent, especially when combined with the fold-down back seats (which is a great feature). Another positive feature is the sufficient window and windshield space and lack of blind spots, which is very important to me. I was very disappointed that Hyundai discontinued the Accent, and most other sedans. Not everyone wants an SUV or hybrid. Another feature I like is that the controls on the 2022 model are all INTUITIVE in their design and location, making them easy to use, including while driving, which is no longer the case in many cars, including Hyundais. There are "old-fashioned" dials and switches and meters, which is great. The only design flaw I can mention is that the front bumper (nose) is designed too low, so it sometimes catches on the raised objects at the front of parking spaces, which are typically called parking blocks, wheel stops, or curb stops. These barriers help prevent vehicles from overrunning the parking space, but I have damaged the front end of my Hyundai turning into a parking space when I didn't see it, especially at night, so the front end gets caught on the block and gets scraped underneath, and sometimes the bumper gets damaged, as well. Same problem going over large speed bumps. I have owned Porsches and Mercedes in the past, but I am a single woman, and my personal safety is an issue, and the world sadly has changed, so I no longer will drive a fancy car that may entice a potential mugger, carjacker, or breakins. My Accent provides the comfort, acceleration, and features of a "fancier" car, and it looks nice, but it doesn't compromise my personal safety in that way. I only wish that it were still being made!! PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!
