Surprising upgrade from BMW X3
After driving my Tucson for 3 months I can say, with assurance, that the change has been an upgrade from the BMW X3 I drove for the past 5 years. It drives smoother, is more comfortable, and employs a reliable hybrid system. The additional mpg is a great benefit and returning to the use of regular fuel (87 octane) has been a money-saver. I like the styling of this vehicle, the increased visibility, and the blind spot displays. The wireless CarPlay is also an added benefit, because it is a huge improvement on the Hyundai navigation. There is still room for improvement though. On the outside, the rear turn signals should be mounted higher for better visibility. The smart cruise and the auto hybrid selection are not exactly intuitive, and the parking brake is hidden behind the steering wheel. Once one learns these systems (Hyundai publishes helpful videos) this car is a pleasure to drive. NOTE: The lack of a spare tire or run-flat tires is a big concern.
