New Sante Fe

I really love my new Sante Fe. It is spacious, comfortable and handles great. Rather large compared to the Elantra I had but I am getting the hang of the larger size.

almost perfect

Love everything about it except for the difficulty in seeing center console controls. The lights for the controls in use are hard to see with or without sunglasses. Heads up display doesn't show well with polaroid lenses. And the lane assist and auto cruise control is annoying.

solid, quiet, efficient ride

Well built - although I found a loose piece of cover on the bottom of the vehicle which was causing an annoying noise. Took awhile to find. Lose nut holding the cover in place was the problem. No notice of going from electric to gas engine. Averaging about 32 mpg which for a vehicle this size is good. Distinctive styling - getting alot of looks like what car is that. Hard to find a 2 wd one though. Colors for the most part are not great. why aren't mud flaps standard? And there seems to be room for a spare but none provided. If not, use that space to provide more storage.

Poor breaking and handling

We like this car overall. However, we didn’t like the safety systems that Hyundai claims to be a top end and a leader in safety mechanism for a car. We bought this car two months ago and my car is totalled in an accident at interstate. The accident happened where my car failed to manage the forward collision control system . I was on the interstate there is a car in front of me Brett I applied the brake but my car Santa Fe did not stop and hit the front car from back. Luckily, we all are safe, however my car is totalled in this accident. I’m really disappointed with all the safety features that Hyundai claim and I’m not happy with my experience. Ideally since this is a top and loaded with all safety features Car should have stopped by its own identifying a close approaching vehicle. Which didn’t work in this case I will think twice before recommending Hyundai specially Santa Fe to any of my friend because I’m not happy about it.

Minor changes would make it awesome

Very nice overall but more should be included in the base package. My family prefers to ride in this vehicle over any other. My 16yo would rather drive this car instead of her new one Niro! I am tall so i would appreciate if it did not sit so low to the ground. Wish it had a better "cool" factor, feels too much like a station wagon or "wannabe minivan"

Terrible design flaws

The cruise control system is a nightmare.It won't continue to engage if it doesn't think you are looking at the camera. Which is located above wheel. Also the rear lift gate lacks foot activation. The hybrid model doesn't include a spare tire.
