very comfortable and easy to drive

The Ioniq 5 is comfortable and easy to drive. My only negative comments to date are as follows. Dirt can get in the spaces between the body and the doors/hatchback. This is common to most cars but seems to be more pronounced on the Ioniq 5. The algorithm for estimated range is opaque. It is unclear how the max range is estimated. Nominal range tends to overestimate available range. I get a better estimate by a using a linear model based on the miles/kWh for the current trip multiplied by the total battery capacity and the percent charge remaining. I would think the algorithm used in software considers more factors and would therefore be better, but it is not. Everything else is really nice so far and I drive this vehicle whenever I can!

Very nice, but brake pedal needs work.

When parking...it is hard to creep forward\backward because it is hard to tell when the brakes will release within the pedal travel.

Stop the beeping for the love of god.

Coming from Tesla, the build quality feels better, but the tech and some of the design decisions are baffling. But we can't get a Tesla anymore for obvious reasons, so it's a decent alternative for as long as we live in Car-ville, USA

Fall in love with an Ioniq 5

I love this vehicle! It has all of the features you would hope for from a high-end luxury brand. My favorite features included heated and cooled seats, a heated steering wheel and easy to use integration with Android Auto. You can tell that smart designers worked to put the very best of the automotive experience together in one car. There is a smart mix of buttons and touchscreen controls. The augmented reality feature for directions and speed control is so helpful. I haven't used a lot of the drive assist features and I remain an old school driver, but I think all are well executed. If you are looking for an electric vehicle get out and test drive this car today. You won't be disappointed.

What an EV should be

This car is a great EV. Roomy interior (I'm 6'3"), fast acceleration with the base engine, comfortable ride, and long range (over 300 mile range) make this EV easy to live with. Tesla plug is a bonus.

Love it! Incredible zippy performance, range & efficiency is great!

The Ionic 5 is my first all EV. This required some change in planning, but now that I have that mostly dialed in and confident about the range, I want to take it everywhere. I used to drive a manual 6-speed Mini. The immediate zip of the Ionic 5 is just as fun! I specifically looked for a hatchback to transport my bike without disassembly. No problem. I prefer smaller profile vehicles and this is mostly true of the Ionic 5. It is not as tall and bulky as standard SUVs, yet the interior range, especially in the backseat is incredible. This is a very well designed and high quality vehicle.

Good car overall with some terrible bugs and design decisions made

There are some terrible decisions made about the car. Not saving the ipedal settings and forcing the driver to reset it every single time they get in the car (and every time they change gears) is horrible design and incredibly annoying. The car also should automatically lock when you step away from it. It's too easy to forget to lock it, given that it unlocks automatically when you get near it. I've also had a terrible experience trying to get the digital key to work. I've contacted Bluelink support more than 10 times over the course of nearly 5 months and they have never been able to fix the issues that would allow me to have a functional digital key.

Unfair policy EV charger

As a part of promotion, received a free home EV charger but had to pay $1,414 out of pocket to install it using a Hyundai specified electrician. I thought expensive, but OK since the charger itself was complimentary. The charger turned out to be faulty, unable to pair with app. After days of frustration over the phone with technical support, Hyundai agreed to send replacement EV charger, but will not cover $400 cost of labor to reinstall. Totally unfair to burden customer with this additional expense when $1,414 was already paid to install a faulty EV charger in the first place. Very unhappy. Will not consider purchasing Hyundai car again. Incredibly poor customer relations. David Chun 213-712-9572
