Good car overall with some terrible bugs and design decisions made

There are some terrible decisions made about the car. Not saving the ipedal settings and forcing the driver to reset it every single time they get in the car (and every time they change gears) is horrible design and incredibly annoying. The car also should automatically lock when you step away from it. It's too easy to forget to lock it, given that it unlocks automatically when you get near it. I've also had a terrible experience trying to get the digital key to work. I've contacted Bluelink support more than 10 times over the course of nearly 5 months and they have never been able to fix the issues that would allow me to have a functional digital key.

Unfair policy EV charger

As a part of promotion, received a free home EV charger but had to pay $1,414 out of pocket to install it using a Hyundai specified electrician. I thought expensive, but OK since the charger itself was complimentary. The charger turned out to be faulty, unable to pair with app. After days of frustration over the phone with technical support, Hyundai agreed to send replacement EV charger, but will not cover $400 cost of labor to reinstall. Totally unfair to burden customer with this additional expense when $1,414 was already paid to install a faulty EV charger in the first place. Very unhappy. Will not consider purchasing Hyundai car again. Incredibly poor customer relations. David Chun 213-712-9572

Don't buy a Tesla!

I love this car! First time EV owner, couldn't be happier. Car is roomy, easy to drive, easy to use. Nice combination of buttons (most car owners are used to) with touchscreen "infotainment". The latter takes a little time to get used to but it's now second nature to me. Back seats are roomy and also has power adjustment and heated seats, often not found in other similar cars. Car accelerates nicely, 4WD is a must for New England winters.

Love the car, but just had to have the high-voltage battery replaced

I absolutely love the car....BUT, I just picked it up today after it sat at the dealership for 2 months. I am leasing the car, and after having it for 5 weeks, I got a battery system error light and my car would not charge. Took it to the dealer and they found a problem with the HV battery (error codes P1AD300 and P1AA700). After much frustration and calls to Hyundai Customer Care and the dealership manager, the new battery finally arrived and was installed last week. The main complaint I have is the lack of communication from Hyundai I experienced once the problem was diagnosed. The Techline entity, in particular, was unwilling or unable to tell anyone where the new battery was coming from or when it would arrive.The dealership manager was finally able to find out where the battery was and when it would arrive. I have been following other complaints from owners on-line and there is a lot of frustration out there! I found recently that a TSB (25-EV-002H) was issued in April and was able to determine that my car was included in this . Anyway, Hyundai needs to improve its information sharing, not only with its customers, but within its own corporate structure!

Almost hits the mark

My EV has most everything I would want in an electric vehicle. What is sorely missing is a walk away automatic lock. This is really annoying as I have to dig for my phone or keep the key fob with me everytim I drive to lock the vehicle.

Beyond my Expectations

I now have 4000 miles on my Ioniq5 Limited and my wife and I are delighted with it. We are thrilled with the quality and all of its features, especially those related to safety. Although we haven't yet mastered all of the tech benefits and options, those we have been using often work flawlessly. Its qualiy, fit and finish are excellent, and performance amazing.

Everything I hoped for -- and more

There are many things I love about this car. It is extremely quiet, but powerful. Very easy to steer. Love the safety features. It charges quickly with my home level 2, and its rangei is much more than advertized.

4 weeks+ waiting for replacement HV battery for new car with 803 miles

I owned my car for 2 months when a warning regarding electrical system appeared on dashboard. HV battery has fatal flaw and needs replacement. Car has been at dealership for one month and still no ETA on availability. Hyundai hasn't made procurement a priority. I only get platitudes for the Customer Care at Hyundai Motor America and offer of buy back -- not replacement. How insulting! How long is waiting deemed acceptable? Seems there is no endpoint to that timeline. Seems that Hyundai has a buyer-beware philosophy with no genuine interest in caring for customers. Cars still rolling off the line in Georgia but not a single battery available for this repair. Disappointing and disgusting.
