CHRONIC DEFECTIVE COMPUTER SYSTEM IN 2013 GENESYS WHICH RESULTS ON GOING EXCESS EXHAUST SMOKE AND EXCESS SOOT BUILDUP AND OCCASSIONAL ENGINE COMPARTMENT EXHAUST FUMES
As stated, vehicle purchased new in a June 2013. New GENESYS brought in several times between June 2016 and December. Sherry Wilson totally ignored engine shaking and called it normal. Finally we left vehicle at Earnhardt Hyundai for a 2 week period since two Earnhardt technicians noted the severe engine shaking. Picked up GENESYS and noted very excess engine exhaust smoke, low power and severe passenger compartment smoke. Sherry Wilson blamed problem on bad fuel which was rude, wrong and absurd. Finally they tore down engine to remove excess carbon buildup on valves. This helped but shaking continued and finally Ken spots authorized full replacement of fuel injectors which alleviated the shaking. Still American Hyundai denied and chronic defects which I ofcourse learned from the service manager at Larry Miller Hyundai was a chronic computer issue which resulted in overly rich fuel mixture and excess smoke.
My feelings are understandably contempt for America Hyundai and Earnhardt compounded by keeping this Sherry Wilson on their staff who compounded the issue by not only being rude but refused to allow the Earnhardt technicians to properly replace the injectors on a balanced basis and not just one injector.
As stated I will continue to drive or GENESYS as long as Earnhardt continues to honor the 100,000 mile drive train but the vehicle still smokes excessively and the exhaust carbon and dot build up is excessive. Victor the service manager is terrific and so is your GM Adambut I suspect American Hyundai. As in the case of Volkswagan will sooner or later he called out on the carpet for fudging their computer system to hide the excess exhaust soot generation on the 2013 GENESYS models with the known faulty computer system that allows the engines to run so excessively rich.
