My First Car

After I graduated from college, I was going to be moving to a new city. Knowing this, I wanted to get a reliable car that wouldn't require much work other than regular maintenance and upkeep. My relatives had American made cars that were constantly in the shop, and my household family had a 2015 Hyundai Sonata that ran fine and didn't need much, if any, mechanical work. Hyundai was one of the first brands I had in mind when looking into new cars but ideally, I was going to get a Toyota Corolla due to Toyota's renowned long-term life and reliability on their cars. Due to the car market in 2022, the only choices that were appealing to me was a Hyundai Elantra or a Kia Forte/Kia Soul. I liked the Kia cars that I saw and sat in, but the Elantra felt like the more modern and sleeker car. Apple CarPlay, Remote Start on the key fob, and the warranty sealed the deal for me to buy my Elantra. Nearly 3 years later, I do not regret my choice of vehicle and am glad I went with my Elantra. Highway gas mileage is elite and the car handles great. The car is small, but you can pack a lot of items with the back seats folded down.

My service experience

I wasn't very happy with the service. The day I bought my car in I got a text that I would have to keep my car over the holiday weekend. Im an Uber driver and doesn't work. I bought my car in Monday and took a whole day to look at my car and determine that I need a part for my horn that wasn't working. It took 3 days to get part. Kind of surprising considering that Hyundai sent out letters regarding horns that weren't working. You would think they would have the parts for that. I don't blame Pablo who works for you. It's the tools that you give him.

Love My Gypsy! My Freedom!

Elantra, is fun to drive & UNBELIEVABLE on gas! 45.5 miles is my highest level of savings! Damn impressive for a car that ISN'T an EV or Hybrid.

Nice car small operation issues

Wish there was a rear wiper for the window, often hard to see out of. Front wipers are a challenge to take off hood is in the way and has to be opened to allow for clearance.

Happy with the car

The car handles well. It drives smoothly. My coworker liked it so much, she bought the 2024 model! The trunk space is huge. I love everything else about the car - the lock/unlock button on the car handle (although have it on all doors would be even better). The seat adjustment availability for the driver is good. The aircon is powerful. Mileage is wonderful. I keep my drive mode in smart and it does wonders even for city driving. I like the brake hold, wireless charging, ample storage spaces. Controls are easy to see. Issues I have with the car is that there is not enough leg space in the back seat, the back seats cannot be partially released to lay flat - most vehicles have a 2-1 configuration for laying the seats flat. Wish all the floor mats had velcro or something to keep them in place.
