Great Service Department
I have never given ANY dealership service department a positive review until now. I needed a repair that only a Hyundai dealership could complete. I live 3 hours from the nearest Hyundai dealership. I called the parts department and asked them to order the part I needed (I had been told by other dealerships the part was on backorder.) They had it in stock. I was able to schedule an appontment that was not inconvient for me. Mr. Washington at the service dest worked hard with my insurance company getting things taken care of on that end of things. The repair was done in a very short period of time, knowing I had traveled 3 hours to be there and had to wait and than drive back home. It truely felt like I was working with my local, hometown repair shop. I could not have aske for a better experience!!

The service department is awful.
Our Hyundai was one of the ones with the motor recall. While waiting to get it into be inspected for the recall, the motor seized a rod went through the block. It took them 3 weeks to diagnose the problem. The rod was through the block, all you had to do was look at it for 5 minutes, but they lied to us and said they were still completing their inspection when it was clear they had not even looked at it yet.

This delayed getting a rental car for 3 weeks. The repair took four months. I am still waiting to get reimbursed for the tow bill. The battery which was discharged by running the hazards waiting for the tow truck, was allowed to freeze and break. Despite that nothing was wrong with the battery prior, the dealer refused to cover this as part of the repair. Remember that this is for a recall repair for a part Hyundai designed wrong.

Worst part is the complete lack of communication from dealer. Repeated phone calls went unreturned, and almost impossible to actually get a person to answer the phone.

Barry I apologize your experience with the engine repair was not satisfactory. The engine failure you experienced has been a common issue recently, and during the time your vehicle had gotten towed in, we had a large amount of diagnosis and repair to do on vehicles with the same problem. This caused some delay in diagnosis having to push the car in and out of the shop along with the other engine jobs. I see that the approval of the repair was made 12/28/22 and your rental started 12/30/22. I understand your frustration waiting for the diagnosis after towing the vehicle in and getting a rental, however we have to follow the warranty guidelines provided by Hyundai in order to perform the repair under warranty on the engine. Due to the block damage, this diagnosis required us to submit a lot more data to Hyundai than usual, as we could not perform the standard engine test Hyundai has designed for this vehicle which is the recall you referenced. This includes multiple pictures, videos, as well as taking parts off of the engine and submitting that data to Hyundai, as well as Hyundai requesting additional items after those submissions. 
I hope you also understand that the availability of parts to build the short block engine required for your vehicle caused delays as well, which us as the dealership have absolutely no control over. 

Upon attempting to charge the battery twice with no success, I submitted a Prior Approval request for your battery to be covered by Hyundai under warranty, and was denied coverage as the vehicle is beyond the warranty coverage for that battery. I cannot authorize warranty if denied by Hyundai Warranty, unfortunately.

Hyundai of Greeley Rocks
So my Accent was attempted to be broken into, but the locking system kept the would be thief from actually stealing my great Hyundai Accent. I got a great deal on a new door locking system as the tool/s from the would be thief damaged it to the point of having it replaced. I was in Hyundai of Greeley's shop for under an hour, and they gave me discount on the price. I'm just really glad that Hyundai makes a door lock that actually has the ability to keep would be thieves at bay. Pretty darn cool, ain't it.

The service appointment calendar is functional again.
For 6 weeks in Feb, and March 2022 I attempted to make an appointment at Hyundai of Greeley for a regular oil change. The service calendar was non-operational, even though the greeting on the telephone line for the service department referred callers to that calendar. I called three times and left voice mail messages on two different service department lines. None of my calls was returned. On Feb. 25 I even drove in person to the dealership and tried to get on the appointment calendar by speaking to a rep in person. I never received email confirmation of that appointment, and indeed it turned out that I still wasn't on the calendar. After giving up and scheduling at a different dealership, I received an email from Hyundai of Greeley in early March, telling me that my car was overdue for an oil change (!) The email contained a link to the long-defunct online appointment calendar. The calendar apparently has returned to operation just as mysteriously as it had disappeared. To keep from driving to another town for an oil change, I canceled the alternative appointment and hesitantly returned to Hyundai of Greeley. I was offered no explanation for the breakdown in customer service. I had previously been very happy with service at Hyundai of Greeley, but after this highly frustrating experience with scheduling, I am reluctant to recommend the service department to others.

David, I apologize you did not receive the top notch service you are used to from us in regards to scheduling and getting ahold of our staff! We have just ironed out the problem with our phone system, as we have gotten quite a few clients of ours letting us know they are not getting throught. We have resolved the phone call routing system, so the numbers for service will ring to the two advisors on duty going forward. You may now call 970-939-5240 and be confident you will get an advisor on the phone, or to our visual voicemail system. 


We are working diligently to expand and grow so we have more room to accomodate our clients who prefer to wait for express service. I drive an extra 40 miles to take my vehicle to Hyundai of Greeley for service. Russ and Alex are the greatest service personnel to deal with. After all it's all about servicing the customer and they go the extra mile to do.
