Low miles and rides like new
Chevy certainly cuts corners on their flagship vehicle, the Suburban, with every new model year. Performance-wise, no complaints, but the engine gets much lower mpg than my 2003 Suburban, and plenty of cosmetic changes not for the better. The body-side molding has been coming loose for several years, the weatherstripping seal at the driver door threshold began to split after a year, or only 4,000 miles, the front and back seat material is much inferior to the oler model, and worst of all - the dashboard is a cheap feeling plastic which cracked within 2 years; and I've watched one of the cracks "spider-out" over the years. Too, the ride is actually much "rougher" than my 2003 model, with now 245,000 miles on it, has ever been. 11 years later, it has 55,000 gently driven miles on it. I'd shudder to think what one that hasn't been maintained and treated gently like ours looks and rides like today.
