Provided a diagnostic at a reasonable price quickly
Despite not dealing in transmission problems they were able to help me diagnose a problem with my Subaru at a very reasonable cost. These are very trustworthy mechanics and they charge reasonable prices.

Professional, responsive, friendly, reasonable price,
I have taken my 2016 Honda to Basic Auto for as long as they’ve been open. I used to dread having to take my car in for repairs, but I do not stress when I have to take my car in for regular maintenance or repairs because I am so satisfied, confident and comfortable with Basic Auto.

Did I time travel to the 1960s?
Juxtaposed between a forested area just beyond the i5 overpass between a KinderCare and apartmentd, this odd mixed used commercial area holds a a small mechanics shop and coffee stand. My husband helped me drop off my vehicle with the overnight option, and felt safe leaving it over night.

Dallas the man I only talked to over the phone, was helpful listened and was understanding when I was ill and unable to show up rescheudling. But I am a direct person who gives clear instructions and felt like I had to more than encourage them to continue looking at the issues with my wiring console (back up camera and speakers popping my main concern) that mysteriously started days before opening up my hood to find a sad sight of a dedicated and decapitated rat on my engine block surrounded by my white insulation and an exposed ignition coil. I have a OBD2, diagnostic tool and interface not showing codes. I myself am not a mechanic, but I am a technician in medical and my own business so it was shocking to ask them to do their jobs? I felt like I made it clear I know electrical issues, especially due rodents can be expensive and time consuming. And I also asked if they offered services to clean the engine bay of the feces and urine as to not attract more furry friends, and not even a reference. The did end up only charging me $170, which in this economy was a near miracle, but I was referred to go elsewhere to fix my main 2 complaints. Maybe they didn't look and just did a quick look over and should shrug, maybe too many sisrespecful accusitory customers have created an environment where they are irritated before customers walks through the door? Perhaps this is a business that is so old school, and sees women as dimwited and should have their husband speak on my behalf? The vibe off and hard to read, the younger guy with glasses, seemed uncomfortable telling me the price, but showed me parts that were replaced, a ignition coil chewed through and a very filthy filter I was very happy they found. The clinch for me was the, quintessential grease soaked coveralls literally tossing my key on the counter without making eye contact. I know there is a whole generation of men who do this type of job and are maybe reserved and not public facing, but a simple conversation or anything would have been better. I just am not sure why you are short changing yourselves; charge a diagnostic fee, a mechanic consult fee, figure out an hourly rate. Be transparent but fair. I would not think you were ripping me off, I would presume you are merely charging for your time and expertise as I do in my field. There are a lot of people who don't know cars, and while it might be irritating and repetitive taking the time builds report and don't forget 50% of the population are female we drive cars too. You only get 1 time to make a first impression, and I was looking for a new shop close to home I could refer people to when they ask.

Great service!
I went in with an alternator problem and they found the connection from alternator to battery was corroded and cleaned it up for me and saved me an alternator replacement. I was happy they took the time to investigate and saved me some money! I will definitely be going back again.

SO GOOD!!!
Honestly, the best experience I’ve ever had going into a mechanic. They’re so nice, so informative, and they let you know what to keep an eye out for. They’ve diagnosed major problems with my car, some of which had fairly easy fixes and I never would’ve known. My car has new tie rod ends, the brakes don’t squeal, it isn’t dumping oil anymore, and I feel safe and secure in my old Subaru. These guys are a blessing!
