Re: 2007, Honda CRV – Battery Light - flickering on & off:
• My battery was replaced (new) in November 2024.
• Two months later, in January 2025, my battery light flashed on & off constantly during my 30-mile drive to work. Obviously, it’s the alternator, serpentine belt or both, right?!
• So, in a SHORT-SIDED PANIC: I couldn’t get to Herb’s (A Plus 1 Auto) or the Honda Dealership until 6:30pm from work. In a SHORT-SIDED PANIC, I called my local Honda dealership to drop off my off 2007 Honda CRV after work for a diagnosis. The Honda Dealership diagnosis (with tax) costs $215.44. The Service Advisor said they’d apply that price to the cost of repairs if I got it repaired there.
• The final Honda Dealership estimate was: $3,795.51. Now I’m also financially distraught. I told the Honda Dealership Advisor (P.O.S.) not to do anything & I’d just pick it up. Here’s why:

• I took my 2007 Honda CRV to MY MECHANIC, HERB PETERS at A Plus 1 Auto.
• As it turned out, I had an oil leak just above my alternator. The part is an oil container as you open your hood, on the left side of the engine. It’s on top. It’s above the alternator. The oil dripped onto my alternator causing the alternator to go bad.
• A Plus 1 Auto replaced my alternator in 2017 and was able to use the warranty to replace it, now, in 2025. All I had to pay for was the labor to replace it. A Plus 1 Auto keeps all your warranties forever.
• Herb replaced my Font Brakes, Alternator and fixed the Oil Leak above my alternator that caused my alternator to go bad in the first place. That was all that needed to be repaired for the safe driving of my car. (I always replace the cabin air filter myself. It’s in the glove compartment; it’s $20.00 for the part and takes 5 minutes labor.)

I noticed there was some kiind of a leak under the car. I was worried it was my engine oil. I rushed
to TGL which is my trusted source for my cars maintenance. I was accommodated immediately & they diagnosed that the leek was at the violent hose. They immediately fixed it for me in a reasonable time as the part has to be orders before they could fix it. Thank you Tony, appreciate it. He is always accommodating, trusted, reliable & reasonable. A friendly, kind, excellent, reliable person. I recommend him to all my friends just like I was recommended to him by a good friend of mine. He is always my first go to guy for all my cars & never was disappointed them. Al the mechanic who works there always comes in to the office to say Hi to me. They have been there for more the. 50 years. I hate the dealer shops for their exorbitant prices for services. I like the small guys who work had & kept the prices reasonable for common man like me.
