Great truck with an problem plagued Cummins diesel motor and U-Connect screen delamination flaw.
My 2018 Ram 3500 with a completely stock, non-deleted Cummins 6.7 (that has been meticulously maintained) has been the most problematic truck motor I've had in 50 years of truck ownership. At 68K miles I had to have the Diesel Particulate Filter replaced at a cost of $3000. Of course the motor warranty was up but I was able to have it covered under the Federal Emissions warranty. At 80K miles it started leaking oil badly at the timing case, timing cover, front oil seal and valve cover. This repair took over 3 weeks and cost $4,500 !! These oil leaks are common, inexcusable and an obvious factory defect that should have been recalled and I'll be seeking reimbursement from Ram / Cummins. My next concern is the "Heater Grid Bolt of Death". This is another potentially fatal flaw that should have been corrected with a recall. Cummins obviously knows this as they've gone back to glow plugs on the "new & improved" 2025 6.7 motor. This will be the last Cummins I ever own!
The truck itself has been very good overall except the defectively designed 8.4" U-Connect screen. Mine delaminated at 60K miles and started with the infamous random ghost touches that rendered it unusable. Again, this is another very common issue that should have been resolved with a factory recall. This is the 4th Ram I've owned and will likely be the last.
