Great performance sedan for the money. Comfortable and very composed.

Love the performance. Suspension is perfect. Seats are very comfortable. Don't like the shifter on the console. Prefer the shifter on the K5 GT by a long shot and almost made me buy that instead. Made it a really tough choice since I hate the shifter on the console so much. I like everything else about the N Line better but that one thing was almost a deal breaker. Also, really appreciate the very limited Piano black plastic. Would really prefer to be able to adjust the base/trebel without having to go through the touch screen. As much as you need to be able to adjust that on the fly so you don't blow the speakers its unsafe to have to navigate through a touch screen going down the road and very frustrating. Also would like the start up light show that comes with the car in some foreign markets on the one sold in the US and more options when it comes to which exterior lights are on as far as the fog and DRL are concerned. Should come with a full size spare tire as well. There is room for it so it should be there. Liked the dash on the previous model better. It's washed out now when the sun is bright and when using the Satellite radio screen you can't see the clock at all in the daytime. Would also like to have the ability to adjust the exhaust note from quiet to something similar to the Elantra N with the crackles and burbles at the push of a button. probably heard this a million times but it really needs an LSD, at least the option to have one for a reasonable price. It's a performance sedan, cut cost somewhere else, like safety features or something along those lines. Those are all nice but an LSD does more for safety in inclimate weather and spirited driving than all those safety features combined.

Dissatisfied

The 2025 model was drastically changed from previous models with no improvements, only more cumbersome with less driver control. I leased Sonatas for 12 prior years and I am not happy with the changes. Your customer service was unresponsive, deflecting, and unsatisfactory.

I can compare this with my 2022 Sonata and for some reason, this is not an improved model even after 3 years.

Reverse gear fails.

When accelerating on hwy the slip differential doesn't engage. The driver seat is tight and small hard to move around. Gas pedal is to far to reach normally.

It delivers the power and performance that I expected

Overall, I like the vehicle very much. It's high horsepower and relatively low torque to eight ratio provide excellent performance. The ride is also fairly good for a car in that price range overall it's a great value.

Excellent Car

I had an 09 Sonata, then a 2022. The 2025 is a much better quality than the 22. Feels more like the 09 and I'm grateful Hyundai went back. I'm hoping they resolved their rotor issues they had on the 09.

So far, So good

The buying experience was great. The dealership has kept in contact and seems willing to help with any issues that arrive. Car is comfortable and easy to drive. Performance is adequate. Glad we got the car and not an SUV. Haven't put the AWD to the test yet. The downside are the electronics. Too many and a bit of a steep learning curve. I don't need the car to do the driving. To take it through a car wash requires an engineering degree to shut off the parking brake. It should just be a handle and cables. Worked forever, why complicate it. The shifter is another point that should rethought. Again, a mechanical handle or even a manual transmission would be appreciated

Transmission

I have had 4 Sonatas and have been very happy. However, my experience with the 2025 leaves me less than satisfied. The shifting of the transmission at low speeds is erratic causing a jerking. The service technician advised a new style transmission was being used in 2025 model. I will be looking at other options for my next vehicle.
