Hyundai Santa Cruz: The Compact Truck That Changes the Game

I purchased my 2025 Santa Cruz new and have been impressed so far. The turbocharged engine feels lively, balancing power and fuel efficiency well. Handling is car-like, which makes it easy to park and drive in town. The Limited trim offers premium interior materials, intuitive tech, and lots of included features that other brands charge extra for. The cargo bed is versatile — the sliding bed extender is a smart touch — and the truck comes loaded with modern safety features like blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control. Styling is distinctive and stands out compared to options like the Maverick. My biggest complaints are minor: fitting a rear-facing baby seat in the back is tight, and most dealer models don’t include a trailer hitch standard. Also, some dealership add-ons feel like filler (cargo nets, first aid kits, etc.). Overall, I’d definitely recommend the Santa Cruz to anyone looking for a compact truck that mixes comfort, style, and practicality.

As close to a truck as you can get

Love everything about my Santa Cruz. I do have however one complaint. It has every safety feature except one that I feel is very important, since my other vehicle is a Genesis GV70. It doesn’t have an audio warning alerts for the front or rear of the vehicle when getting close to another vehicle or object when parking and backing out in tight parking areas. I find that the camera doesn’t provide me with enough confidence in these situations. Most high end vehicles have audio warning alerts for this situation.

Overall very satisfied with thoughtful design of SC.

There are lots to like about this elementary pick up. Well thought out interior makes driving experience fun and safe. Well made and durable passenger cabin. I like the steering wheel shape and the thumb controls to help keep my hands where they belong. Easy to see dash cluster and controls. I am not at all "tech savvy" so I'm still learning what the heck is what and when I hear beeps. I'll just say for me it's probably overkill and yet I find something new every week that I kind of like. If any disappointment is the lights on the climate cluster. Especially for an old geezer like me, they are very small and even with the adjustment as high as it can go, it's difficult to see what is actually on. Particularly on bright days. I'm very much liking 9 out of 10 things for my new SC. Nice hustle Hyundai!

Great features, needs some mechanical tweaks still.

Great features yet some mechanical issues that need to be addressed still. The vehicle hesitates going up hills and skips as if it were idoling too low. This is a disappointment for me as a new car owner.
