Electric value performance

A very economical EV with plenty of power and 250 mile range. DC fast charging 20 to 80% in 40 minutes. Roomy interior and easy controls, excellent tech and safety features.

My Kona

Fun to drive. Love having all electric. Great safety features. Two problems. One is that I bang my knees on the housing for the steering wheel getting in the car. I’ve never had this issue in any car I’ve ever had. Second issue is that the charging cable which is level one, is utterly useless. It took 20 hours to charge the car 8% so I had to spend well over $1000 dollars putting a 220 line in the garage and another couple of hundred buying a level 2 charger. Not sure having the charging port in the front is a good idea as a simple fender bender might take out the ability to charge the car.

Good car, but has many flaws

The car is fine, but I had the 2021 Kova EV and this car is not nearly as good. Major issues: The mileage received on a full charge is less than my previous car, when I think EVs should be getting more efficient, not less; driver side door not opening when putting hand over handle (happens a lot and always at the most inconvenient times (when in a rush, when raining, when dark); cameras not working when frost obstructs them; brake regeneration not working for the first 20 minutes after charging car fully. Minor issues: tow cap always falling out (took my car to Hyundai and they said they fixed it which they did not), issues with the infotainment screen (doesn't stay on favorite stations each time you start car, have to hit multiple things to get to what the screen you want).

Great commuter car with outstanding comfort features

I love my Kona EV! I installed a Level 2 charger at home and aside from that upfront cost, going electric has really saved me money ($100/month to charge at home vs. $200+/month buying gas for my 60 mile round-trip commute). It's not as perky as my former car (a 2020 Mazda CX-3), but other than that, I have no complaints regarding how it drives. And the infotainment display and interior is far superior to any car I've had.
