Very poor service and we had to tell them how to fix something and they lied about it
My daughter took her Kona in for her 6 month service and told them at the time that the washer fluid seemed to be empty and to make sure they checked it. When they were done, she specifically asked them and they said they took care of it. When she got home the windshield washer fluid was still not working so we bought some and put it in (also checking the oil and other fluids because we now didn't trust anything they did). It still didn't work. So, she took it back in and they charged her $140 to "clean" the wiper fluid motor?? They told her she messed it up by putting in washer fluid. I call BS! This is a 2024 Kona with an extended warranty. Wondering if their "fix" will even last. We'll see. Wish we could take it somewhere else for servicing! This isn't the first problem we've had with them.

Terrible Customer Service
Service department lacks attention to detail while serving a simple oil change, damages the motor of my 2024 Palisade (A 11K mile vehicle) and doesn’t offer a loaner. My family vehicle that I lease to drive for pleasure during weekends is off my hands and we stand stranded with no ride. Sad days for us Hyundai customers with love for our vehicles but no after sale assistance, nothing like how other dealers in the area treat their customers. Hyundai USA Consumer Affairs were of no help either, Melanie was assigned to the case and provided no help. Never had a similar issue with Chrysler.

First time buyer
I have never bought a car alone before and I know absolutely nothing about cars so I was pretty nervous at first. But my salesman Johnathan Weidner made the process easy and less stressful. He walked me through everything I felt very welcomed and knowledgeable throughout the whole thing. Thank you so so much!

Very POOR Service. BEWARE.
My Hyundai Genesis was running fine. It started up and 30 seconds later the “Immobilizer Indicator “ came on. I changed the battery in the key fob and put a charger on the battery with no luck. The battery was charging fine. ALL the electronics came on and the headlights were bright. The next morning I tried again, but everything was the same, including a fully charged battery. The car was towed to Universal’s service center and 3 days later the service advisor calls and says the mechanic diagnosed the problem and I need a new battery and starter for almost $1700. What??? That doesn’t make sense and the cost is outrageous. The local Mavis can do the same service and warrant for a little over $700. The 1.2 hours labor for the starter was almost $450. Crazy in my opinion. Something wasn’t right. I drove over to get a few things out of my car and ended up talking to the guy who looked at it. He was NOT a mechanic. He put a jump box on it and couldn’t get it started. So he concluded it needed a battery and starter. Also things were missing from my car. For some reason the battery was now completely dead. My gut told me something was wrong and I should go through the trouble to get my car out of there. I was afraid after they sold me a new battery and starter they would call and charge me more for whatever was causing the immobilizer to activate. I had it towed to my local Mavis (2003 Osceola Polk Line Rd) and they tested the battery and starter and verified them as good. They said it was a security/ immobilizer issue and it had to be scanned by the dealer, which is what I thought and told Universal in the first place.
The service advisors don’t seem to care at all, tell you they are not mechanics when you ask any type of mechanical issue and take a really long time to respond. This includes service managers.
I have a hard time believing they are scamming customers; I think they are really incompetent and just don’t care. But it “feels” like a scam. I feel sorry for unaware customers that don’t know anything about cars.
I took the car to another dealer who fixed the immobilizer issue for less than $300.

DO NOT SERVICE HERE
Edit: took me over 4 hours for an oil change. Victor did not want to come out to hand me my paperwork and keys. I stood by my car for 20 minutes as people were trying to locate him and my stuff.
Scheduled a 11:20 oil change as part of the warranty. I’m still sitting here , it’s past 3pm and was just told they only just started working on it and it will be another 45 minutes.
It took many texts and phone calls - Victor from services was impossible to get ahold of for hours. When I finally did get him, he said he didn’t know the status of my car and would call me back. Never did. The Services line would never pick up and just go to voicemail.
Claimed it was due to high volume - so then what’s the point of an appointment?
This is my second time here for a standard oil change - also took 3 hours the first time.
Absolutely do not recommend for servicing and no chance will I ever come back.

No customer service skills. No communication. Trying to scam and make me pay for something that was recalled.
Universal Hyundai

Mar 7, 2024

Hyundai had a recall for their white paint that has been chipping off of thousandsss of cars globally. They had to extend their warranty for paint repair an extra three years to avoid recalling all the cars that are jacked up.
Hyundai was supposed to mail out letters informing owners of this extended warranty.
I received no such letter. I happened to find out about this a few months ago when I was researching what could be done about the constant need to repaint this car with a faulty paint job from the start.
As this is not the first time…since we had the car “repainted” by Hyundai two years ago.
Aka…. They repainted only the parts that were chipping and not the whole car so now new areas and the repainted areas parts are chipping again Imagine that!
Hyundai said a new paint job would be covered under this extended warranty (that we weren’t informed about). They said to bring it to a near by dealership to have them photograph and send in for the claim.
Dropped my car off Feb. 20th. I had to get someone to drive separate from me for the 1.5 hour drive to the dealership and drive me home bc they “don’t provide a loaner until they do their inspection and Hyundai approves the repair” which could take four hours or more. Who can wait at a dealership for four hours with a baby?!
Now they are saying that they will only cover 75% of the paint job which apparently costs $8,000.

To add insult to injury they are saying they won’t repaint the hood or roof, since that was previously painted at another Hyundai dealership, even though it is also chipping again.
Since when is a half car paint job 8 grand?

I got a quote from several body shops around that area (and probably the body shop they are hiring to do the paint job) and the largest quote I’ve gotten for premium paint, new color, entire car, with chips was $3700.
Seems like a scam to me.
17 days without a car or a rental and all I’ve gotten is the run around.
Now that I’ve said I can’t pay 2 grand to have half the car painted (for a problem with Hyundais paint and no fault of my own) they are saying I need to come get the car immediately bc they can’t hold it.
You held it just find for 17 days!
With no rental car now I have to make arrangements for someone to bring me up there again to get the car back.
This is the most insane transaction (that went absolutely nowhere) that I’ve ever had with a dealership.

Over priced oil change
I am very disappointed that a regular oil change cost $88 with tax and they also now charge a Credit card fee, this is unreal and unacceptable how can you possible charge that much! They also gave estimates for items to be done and those estimates were outrageous too! I will be looking elsewhere for the services that I may need.

Rafael in Parts Goes Out of his way in Customer Service!
I bought a 2024 Santa Cruz at the end of November. The sales experience at the dealership was great.

A week ago I found out I have a slow leak in the drivers side tire and took it to a tire shop to patch. Unfortunately I found out that I did not have a lug nut key in the vehicle. I got a little bounced around between service and sales but when i contacted Universal again they switched me to the parts department and Rafael asked me if I could bring the car in and he will fix the problem. I brought it in and Rafael took off the lug nuts and put on new ones with a new key... no waiting.. did it well my car was in the service bay! That's what i call customer service !!
