After 38 years the previous owner decided to retire from the business. Before he did that he found Kevin and Heather Safley. Kevin recently retired from the military after 23 years of service. Heather is a nurse here in Portland and decided she wanted to look at retiring from the profession in the next 2-5 years. She has a love of cars like Kevin, so this was the perfect fit. Kevin has been a mechanic since he was 16 years old working a tire shop and moved on to the military and become a Diesel Mechanic. Kevin has been on three major tours overseas (Bosnia and Iraq).
With new technology and love of cars, Town Center seemed like the perfect place for their next career move. The employees at Town Center are some of the best in the business and have over 100 years of combined experience. Kevin and Heather believe in giving everything they possibly can to keep them happy and well taken care of. Every Friday Heather or Kevin will take the technicians out for a lunch to say thank you. They provide AFLAC, vacation, great weekly pay and paid training. We know our employees are the best and biggest assets and we treat them just like the golden rule. And that is how they treat our customers! Thank you for stopping by and reading about our story. In time we will update our story to tell you more about us. Give us a call or stop in and let us keep you safe and on the road.

We're glad to hear that our team made such a positive impact during your visit! A sense of urgency is key—after all, who has time to wait around when car troubles strike? And a vacuuming surprise is just the cherry on top. We appreciate your business and look forward to helping you again in the future!
At Town Center Automotive, we take every concern seriously and strive to deliver transparent, high-quality repairs backed by professional service. In this case, the customer originally came in with a check engine light and no visible coolant leaks. Our diagnosis identified a failed cooling fan, which we replaced. This resolved the immediate issue, and the customer was able to drive over 60 miles without incident.
Shortly after, a new issue developed—a leaking water pump—which the customer approved for replacement. During testing, an aged plastic coolant pipe cracked due to pre-existing corrosion and brittleness, a common issue on high-mileage vehicles with plastic components in the cooling system.
The customer also mentioned having spent $3,000 at another facility prior to visiting us. We made every effort to assist in verifying whether any prior repairs could be covered under warranty and remained transparent throughout our process.
We understand the frustration of dealing with multiple vehicle issues, but it's important to recognize that repairing one problem does not prevent future unrelated component failures—especially on aging systems. Our team stands behind the work we perform and is always willing to address concerns directly and professionally. And lastly, this field is one of the most difficult when it comes to keeping up with schooling, tooling and experience. At no point do we ever guess, and as a veteran-owned business, we take great pride in digital inspections.
We understand how frustrating it can be to feel like your concerns have fallen on deaf ears, especially when it comes to something as important as your vehicle. Diagnostics should never resemble a suspense thriller that keeps you waiting for days, and we regret that your experience felt more like a waiting room than a service center. Communication is key, and during our first part of the diagnosiitic we found a failed part and provided information to MAXcare for warranty. They typically take 2-4 days to approve. Since it was taking longer and we went to move it and found the simple mistake. We fixed it, cleared the codes and ran a quick test which passed. It did not set the monitors at the time. We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as it highlights areas where we can improve and better serve our customers. It's certainly not our intent to appear as if we're in it for a quick buck over quality service. We hope the issue with your car is now resolved—because nobody likes to play “find the air filter” when it should be a straightforward task. Thanks for your feedback; we're committed to making things right.
We appreciate your feedback. But we understand that mechanics are human and they make mistakes. That is why we provide free towing for your car and a 3 year or 36,000 nationwide warranty. We do this to provide a solid foundation to create trust. We believe if you would have allowed us to make things right with you, you would have been happy. As for SCAM. Those are harsh words for this old retired 1SG. I don't take them lightly. That is why we provide a digital inspection. We even test drive your vehicle after the repair and then have a second person do a QC. Sometimes things out of our control happen. But we always provide an opportunity for our customers to let us make it right if we know whats going on.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us! It’s great to hear you found our repairs reasonably priced. We understand that leaving your vehicle with us can be a tricky balance, especially with rental costs being what they are. We're happy to help lighten that load, even if just a little. We're glad to hear that our team was able to work their magic on your car! It’s always our goal to be the repair shop that exceeds expectations and leaves no bolt unturned. If you ever have questions or need assistance, just give us a shout. Your car can thank us later.
We appreciate your feedback on your recent tire experience! It's great to hear that our team was able to assist you in finding just the right tires for your vehicle. After all, tires are a bit like shoes for your car—comfort and performance matter! If you ever need assistance again, just give us a shout. Safe travels!
Thank you for your feedback. We wish you well in your future endeavors.
We truly appreciate your feedback! It sounds like Shane was on top of his game, serving up insights like a pro. If only he could share some wisdom on choosing the best pizza toppings too! We're glad you had a great experience with us and hope to keep the helpful vibes rolling.
We greatly appreciate your recommendation! It sounds like our team delivered the goods—reasonably priced and on time, similar to a punctual pizza delivery, but with a lot fewer toppings to worry about. If you ever need anything else, just let us know. Enjoy the smooth ride!
We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear that you found our service to be good, but we’re sorry to learn about the issues you encountered. It sounds like your car had quite the spa day, albeit with some unexpected hiccups. A tickle charger? That's a great idea—we'll definitely consider that for future long-term visits. We certainly understand how frustrating it can be to deal with a battery that feels like it took a vacation of its own, especially with those unexpected repair costs. The communication side of things is so important, and we apologize for leaving you feeling in the dark. We aim to make sure our customers are well-informed every step of the way.Your suggestions are invaluable, and we will use them to improve our processes and avoid similar situations in the future. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention!

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. It’s great to hear that our team was able to keep things real and not go down the road of inflated bills. We like to think honesty is the best policy, especially when it comes to car repairs. We're glad you left feeling like you got a great deal and some peace of mind. Happy driving, and may your car always take you where the road meets adventure!
It's understandable that you need more time to see how the work holds up in action. We're happy to hear that our staff and service have made a positive impression—like a good warm-up act before the main event! Once you’ve had a chance to put everything to the test, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Just think of us as the enthusiastic audience rooting for your car’s big performance!
