Engine Oil leak
A couple years ago I took my truck in for finding an engine oil leak. I received a phone call from them telling me it needed a power steering pump and hoses. The cost was around $1450.00. I said it’s an engine oil leak not power steering fluid. I was then told I could come there and talk
to the mechanic, so I did. I told the mechanic that it was an engine oil leak, he argued with me so I had him drop the truck down. I opened the power steering cap, put a finger in the reservoir and showed him the power steering fluid was red! He said oh, well we can put dye in the engine and try to find but it would be hard to see with all the oil everywhere. I said I brought it here for you to find and quote repair. He said ok, then asked “do you want the power steering pump and hoses changed”? It was all I could do to keep from laughing! I said no, it’s not the leak. I left, then called a little later and told them I’d just come back and get my truck.
