After being transferred to their service department, I was on hold for over 20 minutes, no one would answer the phone. I tried a couple more times with the same long hold time results with no answer.
So, I called Kia of Puyallup (in April). I had no trouble reaching their service department and after explaining my situation an appointment was set up for May 28th at 9:30 am. (Or so I thought).
As a cautionary measure (because I have experienced this before) I called on the 27th to confirm the service appointment and not surprisingly, no appointment was found. The service agent (Beth) was very diligent and suggested that I might want to speak with the service department manager Tom Evans.
I was transferred to his phone and got his voicemail. I left a message and my phone number.
Within 15 minutes, Tom had returned my call. He confirmed that there wasn't anything in their system for me.
After retelling my experience with Renton Kia and expressing my desire to bring my car to Puyallup, I fully expected a possible month-long delay to fit me into their schedule. But, to my amazement Tom made the decision to set service for the next day at the same time (9:30 am) that I had set up originally.
Beth greeted me warmly when I showed up to drop off the car for an overnight stay. I guess my second-best experience was when I came back the next morning to pick up my car.
Beth recognized me immediately and even remembered my name. I don't think you can get any better customer service than what I received.
So, thank you Beth and thank you Tom for your outstanding attention to making my experience so satisfying.
