The diagnostic fee is a price you pay for the service of discovering what is wrong with your vehicle.  As far as being called a scammer, I don't understand the accusation.  In some instances we opt to discount the diagnostic fee to help.  It all comes down to time invested in your vehicle and what is fair.  For instance if you have a hose that needs replaced, most of the time involved with your job was due to the diagnostic.  Pre-diagnosis and Post-diagnosis to verify the repair.  The hose replacement was 10% of the job.  In that instance the diagnostic would be charged.  For a larger job the diagnostic is a much lower percentage of the job and we often will waive the fee.  Completely optional for us.  Most companies do not discount the diagnosis ever.  Sorry you felt this way, but to call us scammers?  Not true.

This charge is a standard charge for the repair of an A/C manifold assembly.  It requires welding new barbs and time to assemble.  New it probably cost 180-200$ if it is available. Were you able to use the hose?  Yes.  Was it made correctly?  Yes.  What is the reason for 1star?  Because you thought the price was high?  That was never mentioned when we called you.  I apologize that you thought it should be cheaper, but I will not apologize for doing excellent work.
