Beware of Inflated costs and dishonest sales tactics
I was so taken back by my poor experience with this company that I felt obligated to write a review of my experience.

Before even putting eyes on my vehicle, each conversation started with, "what insurance are you going through?" Not a big deal on it's own. My brief experience with the estimator/salesman felt as though I was dealing with a commissioned salesperson. I don't know his name because he actually never greeted me and introduced himself. I'm fine going straight to business but a greeting takes minimum effort.

I pointed out the damage and he states, "what insurance are you using because this will be well over $8,000. For reference, body shop #1 was $1,500 total. Body shop #2 was $2,000. I stated as much and he could not have cared less.

I will never use this business and I will pass on the word to people I speak with. Even if the damage does warrant an insurance claim, the business should not be inflating costs and damages just because I only pay my deductible. I don't expect they will care to address this review or the glaring issues. There are many reputable shops in the area but this is not one. ZERO stars.

Excellent work; outstanding communication
The work, including an initially unseen bent bracket when the fender was removed was repaired/restored to perfection. Thank you to the technicians who worked on my car. The check in process was thorough with Tim Olmstead, and follow up communication from him was outstanding. Meaningful to Subaru was Tim assuring me they "love Subarus". I knew my ten year old Forester was in good hands. The staff at Brandywine Coach Works (shout out Amanda who kindly explained the process to me when I called in with questions ) are friendly and the atmosphere is warm. I greatly appreciated the arrangement with Enterprise for a rental car to be brought to me. Timewise, initially, I was told 2 1/2 weeks. It helped that Subaru parts were in stock. These excellent technicians completed the work in three days. This business merits "10s"

Julian and the staff were great! Made sure my car was repaired to Subaru specs and handled all the paperwork and back and forth with insurance!

I will never take my car to any other body shop. Everyone that I spoke to from the moment I had to schedule the appointment for my car to go in up until it was done were extremely friendly, very knowledgeable, and just very empathetic. I got my baby back and she is looking just as she did the day that I purchased her.

Outstanding service, excellent work
Friendly, efficient, outstanding customer service made getting my car repaired an easy process. The work is above excellent, it was finished ahead of schedule, and for less than the original estimate. My car looks like new, I could not be more pleased with the result. Bonus- it was returned completely clean and shiny.

Would not recommend to anyone, ever.
I took my car to Brandywine Coachworks on July 5th to get a bumper replaced for my Subaru that had been backed into. The Subaru dealership recommended them for bodywork. I wish they hadn’t.

What ensued was 3 weeks of no communication on their part, and repeatedly finding out that things had been sitting for days before being utilized. My bumper sat for days at Subaru and wasn’t picked up until I called Subaru and found out, then called Brandywine Coachworks to inform them. My painted bumper was ready for days before I finally called to ask, and was told they were waiting for me to bring my car in. After I dropped my car off, it sat for 5 days, 3 of them business days, before they did anything besides wash it.

Every step of the way, I was told I would receive calls notifying me of the progress. In reality, I received 2 calls from July 5th to July 28, when I picked up my car the first time (more on that in a moment). One was to tell me the estimate had almost tripled, and another to say my car was ready. In comparison, I ended up having to call them 30+ times over the same time period in order to get any information. Staying on top of Brandywine Coachworks became a part-time job.

Within 30 minutes of picking up my car on the 28th, a sensor that had been replaced as part of the service stopped working. I picked up my car at 4pm and it was back in The Brandywine Coachworks parking lot to get repaired again by 6pm.

The following day, I was told my car was ready at 10am. I organized a ride and called to let them know I was coming, only to be told I would have to be called back. After an hour waiting for yet another call that never came, I called again and was transferred to the GM. He informed me that the sensor had stopped working again and he didn’t want to tell me because I “was already upset”. After allowing the GM to explain his side of what happened with my car for 5 minutes without speaking, I started to share my experience including the 30 calls and the bumper sitting around. This was so he could understand that my frustration didn’t come from a sensor malfunctioning, but rather the lack of communication I dealt with from his company for the last 3 weeks.

I say started, because I spoke for less than a minute before he said, “I’m going to cut you off.” Then proceeded to tell me that “the parts don’t matter”. I have two customer service tips for the GM:
1. The customer does not feel listened to when you don’t listen to them.
2. You don’t get to tell someone else what does and doesn’t matter to them. You are not the only who had to made 30 calls to track the parts down.

I appreciate the speed with which the final fix was completed on Friday 7/29. What I don’t appreciate, is the way I was spoken to by the GM, or the 23 days of pulling teeth that came before it. All in all, the repairs appear to be lasting this time, but I will never use Brandywine Coachworks again. I would not recommend them to anyone, ever.

Great Repair Experience
From drop off to pick up the entire process to get our car repaired was great. Brandywine Coachworks kept us informed, responded quickly to questions and finished the repairs one day sooner than expected. Overall great service and would highly recommend them
