AutoTek opened in 2005 in a small town east of Independence. After our successful starting years, we migrated to 537 E US Hwy 24 Independence, MO 64050. Through hard work and time, we AutoTek opened in 2005 in a small town east of Independence. After our successful starting years, we migrated to 537 E US Hwy 24 Independence, MO 64050. The building we chose in Independence had been vacant for around 5 years and was scheduled for demolition when we stepped in and signed a lease in 2011. Through hard work and time, we restored the building into a complete automotive service facility with twelve service bays, making us the largest auto service provider in our area. Our building has been renovated with new electrical wiring, roofing, glass, plumbing, and a whole lot of paint. No discussion of any FEE'S were expressed to me. Reading code should have taken 5-10 mins knowing that these services are often provided for free since repair of problems are often performed by business doing the diagnostics. They said they would need me to leave car for the day so they could work it in. At the end of the day, I was informed that they could not get the car to duplicate problems I had advised them of. An $85.00 fee was told they drove my car over 40 miles and could not find a problem. Was not informed of the engine code, knew nothing more than when I came in. Tried to make me feel bad about the $85,00 fee that was never discussed.
Since I had not agreed nor was I advised of any fee I did not pay. Luckily for me, I had possession of the vehicle. Consumer BEWARE
