Ms. Hale had her son's car towed to our shop from another repair facility, where it had been for some time. Since Ms. Hale has never physically visited our location, we are unsure where the 10-minute time frame originated.
Upon inspection, we found that the car lacked proper maintenance, the motor is completely seized, and the engine bay is covered in oil. Sourcing this particular engine, whether used or remanufactured, is nearly impossible. We know this because we are currently replacing the same engine in another vehicle. That customer spent a year trying to find a used engine and was scammed once during the process.
Unfortunately, a new engine is the only viable option, and yes, it is quite expensive. It would be irresponsible business practice to simply throw parts at a car that requires a new engine.
