Customer Comment for Service Performed on October 10, 2024
My Hyundai Santa Fe 2013 was initially brought to ALM Hyundai in Florence on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Diagnosis was performed to discover why the passenger front door displayed open while driving the vehicle. The part was ordered, and I returned on October 10, 2024, at my appointed time of 8:30 AM. Using the Parts Number referenced on the invoice from ALM Hyundai, I used that number to obtain a price of the same part from Amazon. ALM Hyundai price was $289.60, and Amazon price was listed as $55.00. ALM overcharged this customer $234.60. Labor fee $479.59, SS Shop supplies $45.00 (What is this? Please explain exactly what constitutes this $45.00.) Diagnostic Fee was $95.00. Total Price Paid was $642.75.
As stated above, I arrived at ALM Hyundai at 8:30 my appointed time. There was only one person in the waiting room. Two Black ladies came to the waiting room. Then, three white women came to the waiting room. I’m not playing the race card, but I’m stating facts. All three white patrons’ cars were repaired, and all Black patrons were still waiting on repair work to be completed. I was annoyed at the lack of professionalism from Eric Foerster. I had to search him out to inquire about the status of my car.
Finally, I left ALM Hyundai at 11:49 AM.

Belittle of my wife
Myself and my wife went into ALM after looking at several other dealerships for a Ford Expedition. ALM had three on the lot.. My wife test drove them and fell in love with the white one on the lot. I am a disabled veteran and my beautiful wife is a saint from God for even dealing with me.. We sat down with a Mr. Jolly who was your typical fast talking salesman. I had already been approved by my bank for a interest loan of 3.5% before I even walked into ALM because we were ready to purchase a new car. Mr. Jolly asked what kind of vehicle she currently has and stated her trade in would be $13,000 on 2015 LTZ Tahoe in perfect condition, which he quoted “that’s what KBB stated it is worth.” Our pay off was $20,000 So my sweet wife tells him we won’t be trading the vehicle in and we will just sell it on marketplace for at least pay off.. Mr. Jolly told my wife “Good Luck you’ll need it! At this point I told Mr. Jolly Tahoes are selling like Hot cakes we won’t need luck! My wife then Asked Mr. Jolly what would our monthly payment be at 3.8% for the car. Mr. Jolly flat out told us that the best he could do is maybe 6%… I told him I have already been approved through my bank that I didn’t need him to finance. The listing price for the Ford was $43,900 he brought up his calculator and began adding numbers which brought up the total to around $49,000. My wife asked him what all was being added to the price he told my wife, Tags, registration, dealer fees, sales tax and a “recon fee for $1,900. My wife asked what a Recon fee was and he said it’s to pay the dealership to look at the car to make sure The motor isn’t blown up and if it is the dealership will cover it. My wife said well the motor isn’t blown up in the car she wants to buy then why would I need to pay that. Mr. jolly said every vehicle on the lot has to pay it and my wife said “that’s crazy” and Mr Jolly stood up in his chair and began talking loud and very stern to my wife saying it’s NOT CRAZY and I had to interrupt him and tell him he was not going to belittle my wife in front me. I went to the sales manger who said the only thing I can do is say sorry I guess and we have 4.5 stars on google. Moral of the story I felt as if Mr. Jolly likes to down talk women and bully them into paying way more then needed.. Men and woman don’t be bullied into these crazy sale tactics.. And ladies never let a man belittle you. BTW I sold the Tahoe for $28,500

Follow up
Ken (General Manager) and Eve (Customer Service Liason) were quick to follow up on my concerns about the damage to my car. I was reimbursed for my tire. My husband still questions the time frame in which my services were done in, especially the belt changed, but I was assured that everything thing was completed correctly. As I explained to them, the service I had grown to expect since buying my car from that dealership had declined greatly over the last year or so. Even the atmosphere or vibe as you call it has changed greatly. I understand that things change and that increase in business can cause a company to outgrow its current location, however not taking the time to fully care for a customer's vehicle as if it was your own is very sad and cuts deeply. We shall see how things play out from here.

Shocked and disappointed ? ? ?
Take a quick walk around your vehicle before and after dropping off for service to make sure there are no damages to your vehicle. Have not been satisfied in the service lately with ALM. Never had an issue when it was Lee Hyundai in Florence. Car lot is even too crowded with vehicles for sale that navigating it is a nightmare. Will utilities another Hyundai dealership for my next service

Some bumper to bumper warranty!
Took car in for recall when I got it back it was misfiring.It was running fine before I took it in . They said it was covered by the warranty and would charge me $275.00 to fix it . Was running fine until I took it in for recalls.

Hyundai of Florence set the bar across the board for a perfect customer experience. From the moment I reached out with a brief inquiry, Kevin was responsive and extremely knowledgeable.
