Cool car but not yet worth it

Overall the Ioniq 6 is really enjoyable to drive, and quite comfortable, however, it is lacking in some places. The car has a lot of features but many of them tend to be buried in menus or just not clear the feature exists. A good example of this is the one-pedal driving being either in a menu or you use the steering wheel pedals, neither of which are particularly clear what the feature is or how it works. The feature itself is also rather clunky as it simply breaks when not on the gas. I was also surprised to find that the car lacks lane departure warning despite having lane keep assist. Heating and cooling also leaves much to be desired. They certainly work well but its difficult to not be required to have either AC or Heat running as with either off the vents just blow outside temp air. This of course drains the battery significantly. The estimation of battery range is rarely accurate and I'd honestly rather just have a Kwh display instead. That way you could just divide the kwh remaining by your avg mileage to determine your remaining range. Or at least give the option. Speaking of batteries, the range certainly leaves much to be desired. Unfortunately not much can be done about this as it is more of a limitation of current technology than anything. Even still, the car is only good for local driving as you'd be hard pressed to get anything more than 270 miles per 100% charge, and more accurately closer to 250 as you cant just drain the battery to near 0 levels. That said, the car runs smoother than butter. It accelerates quickly and smoothly, and handles fantastically. Although I would prefer if the tighter steering wasn't arbitrarily locked behind sport mode. I will say though, the cost of the vehicle is steep. Unless you have chargers at home you can use whenever, I cant say the car is worth owning. Full electric just cant beat hybrids yet, and paying a premium for a car that has so much less utility and so much more hassle (charging) it just isn't worth the purchase.

Not what I was expecting from a EV, the mileages are the main issue

Even though I like the car itself, the mileages lie a lot, I was promise at least 314 miles but then I'm not supposed to charge my battery more than 80% so the battery last longer and better? This means less miles, then even driving in the best conditions I never reach those minimum mileages, don't think EV's are a good thing for nobody, unless Hyundai is the only one lying about it!!!

Hyundai Ioniq 6 is a great EV

I've had this Ioniq 6 for a month and put 1,400 miles on it including driving around town and 3 road trips with Level 3 charging. It's the RWD Long Range version so not as fast as an AWD but still plenty responsive. It's been an absolute pleasure to drive and I'm planning on buying it out of the lease at the end.

I like the ride quality and feeling of solidity in the car. Material seem good, as does the extensive feature content. My five main let downs with the car are: (1) the parking sensors are faulty when I'm driving and come to a stop. They beep and go off when nothing is near me. (2) The car does not have wireless apple carplay. (3) The one pedal "i-pedal" driving mode is not stong enough in slowing the vehicle down quickly. (4) I cannot make "i-Pedal" my default setting and have to reengage it every time I shift the car into drive. (5) The touch to lock on the door handles is not consistent and doesn't always register when I tap them.

Worst after sales service. Most irresponsible team I have ever come across. If it was possible, I would have given minus stars.

Vehicle is not bad. But the sales team from top to bottom is the worst team. Head-office team is the worst than the sales team.

Great car with unacceptable annouances

I love this car. It drives well and has good distance on a charge. My main gripe is the warnings they insist on having which interrupt me needlessly and relentlessly. There is a pleasant voice that interrupts whatever I am listening to to tell me there is a speed camera ahead and the speed limit is ——-. This happens all over the city and I never speed in the city so WTF!! It cannot be turned off I am told. And there is another warning about “consider taking a break” when I am on a long distance drive. OK, If I am getting drowsy this would be OK, but it comes on about 30 minutes into my drive and I am not interested in a break yet. This also interrupts whatever I am listening to and also cannot be turned off. I suspect the lawyers have gotten to the techs and hence no recourse other that to slip this car a get a different less annoying EV.
