My GV-70

When engine cold, the vehicle sometimes shifts a little rough. There should be a way to more permanently turn off the engine-idle cut-off switch rather than have to turn it off every time I enter the vehicle.

Almost what I’d hoped for

It’s largely good, but is surprising cheap on some details. Which just feel incongruous with what it aims to be. Rear doors do not have unlock by touch. Keyless entry is not quite reliable. The fingerprint reader to use the screen is both an unnecessary and annoying and made far worse by being irrational. On average it takes 2-5 tries to read my finger. If it was as reliable as a MacBook I could ignore it but it works poorly and so is hard to forgive. More importantly it does not add value to the driver, it’s just a potential monetization mechanism for Hyundai. Some interior plastics feel cheap, like on the sun visor, which I believe is a shared Hyundai/Kia part. Last the fuel economy is very poor. Last, the unwanted XM radio pushes pop up adds for XM onto the head unit on starting the car. Otherwise it’s quite nice.

2024 Gv70 RDC

Overall, I'm very pleased with the vehicle, and it's fun to drive. However, the brakes are very odd and seem to grind when stopping. I also get some minor vibration when I press the brakes from speed. I've has it evaluated twice with no resolution.

Overall a fine car. Features are excellent as is service. Delivery to house is a big plus. Good value. Only two negatives: 1. The turning radius is ridiculously wide. I have never noticed this in a car before, but many Genesis owners comment. 2. The vehicle is slightly underpowered, but this is not a big issue.

Great vehicle, poor customer support.

If you have an issue with the vehicle, Genesis lack common customer support that you would expect from most vehicles. I have an issue with an Over The Air (OTA) software update that Genesis pushed out and broke my infotainment system. It has been more than 4 weeks and Genesis has not responded to even say sorry to hear about your problem and here is what we are doing to fix it. Phone calls get you a "Just wait for a call from someone" response and email is a automated response saying that someone will be in touch with you regarding the problem. No response or phone calls have been made to me to even say sorry for the problem or issue we (Genesis) caused from the OTA. To summarize, great vehicle when it works and hope you don't need support from Genesis. Yes they have a great warranty, but what good is a great warranty if no one will even pick up phone to talk to you about the issue.

Good car, poor dealer

Dealer made buying experience poor, initial problems not addressed, I jerryrigged a solution. Afterwards all fine, I do like the car, a bit too much to deal with accessing the technology.
