Terrible reliability even worse customer service

Very disappointed in Genesis. 2.0 engine is underpowered. Suspension and road noise are comparable to that of a golf cart. The car is a glorified Hyundai made up Kia parts. The car has spent more time at the dealership than any other car I've owned. The promised loaner vehicles (if available) are Hyundai's. Case management with Genesis is not what is expected from a luxury brand. The car has been in service for warranty repairs at least 10 times. If it was not that I lived within a reasonable distance of a genesis dealership I would be put at a significant disadvantage. Genesis has failed to change my perception of my lease of the current G70 and I will never lease or purchase a genesis ever again.

Love my G70

It was love at first sight, I guess. The body shape and interior styling are so great; elegant, sporty, and luxury combined. Driving is a pleasure, and the tech and safety packages are top-notch.

Disappointed, Genesis G70

I had high hopes when I bought this car. After reading several positive reviews, I was disappointed in this vehicle. While it could be fun to drive, quality issues marred the experience. Twice within the first 6 months of ownership, this car spent several weeks in the dealer's service lot awaiting repairs for rattles and other things, as well as a full replacement of the right rear turn taillight assembly, which inexplicably stopped working one day, resulting in my getting a ticket. I should have known better - the day I bought the car, I spent 8 hours in the dealership, even though I walked in ready to by, with financing already arranged. The dealership insisted that I go through their finance process, which complicated things. In short, I wound up trading the car after about 8 months of ownership for a BMW.

Clicking sound coming from behind the dash, shows poor assembly. Uses a bit too much gasoline. Back seat a bit tight.

Nice looking and fun to drive. It handles great and I like to drive it

The interior finish is not up to standard. The whole inside rattles and cracks. When the temp is hot it gets even worse. The trim on the outside oxidizes and looks terrible. I’ve only had the car two years and the inside rattles like it’s 20yrs old

Good Car But Dealership Sucks

I really like my '23 G70. It's fast and has most of the luxury feel and features of my previous 4 Mercedes vehicles. The issue with the ownership experience is that there is only one dealership in all of the San Diego area and they suck....big time. I suspect this may be the case in other urban areas as Genesis has been behind the curve in terms of opening stand-alone dealerships. The brand will never be worth the price until they start doing this and stop relying on converted (or even shared) Hyundai/Kia dealerships. The ownership experience at the only San Diego Genesis dealership isn't in the same universe as the other 'luxury' brands. Don't buy a Genesis, at least not if you live in the San Diego area.
