Zoel’s Body and Auto Center is a second generation auto body and mechanical facility founded by Zoel Sirois in 1963. His son, David Sirois, became President in 1979. David’s vision of a “Professional and High-Tech Industry,” has led him to the research and design of a new 15,000 sq. ft. auto repair shop in Meriden, Connecticut. His goals were: to accommodate the latest high-tech auto body technology, frame pulling and paint booth equipment, to ensure quality, and accurate and safe auto body repairs by experienced automotive technicians.

David also included a full mechanical department with computerized diagnostic equipment to better serve his customer’s needs, and control all aspects of collision repairs in-house.

The new automotive facility was built with both the customers and employees best interests in mind. He has provided a clean, professional atmosphere, portraying a high regard for perfection and integrity.

Excellent Service
This was my first time going to Zoels and they were great. They repaired my hatchback to brand new condition. I didn't have to worry about the insurance company as Zoels took care of everything. I am very satisfied with their work and professionalism. I wouldn't hesitate to use Zoels again or recommend them to anyone.

Highest degree of integrity
I have been going to Zoel's for over 20 years. I have to drive now over 20 miles to get there. Why, because they have been always upfront and honest with what maintenance has to be done. I tried taking my vehicles to the local car dealership, and always come away with suggested maintenance. I check with Zoels staff and they advice me what has to be done, and what can be delayed or even ignored. And when i do my work there, the charge is lower sometimes that the quote my dealership would give me for suggested maintenance.

I picked my vehicle up yesterday from Zoels, for the third time in 2 months for the SAME issue (refill coolant indicator light kept coming on). The cost both times were costly. $1,923.34 on Nov 15th 2024, and $393.42 on Nov 26th 2024. Additionally, I had to pay several hundred additional dollars to rent a car, as both times my vehicle needed to stay multiple nights. I dropped my vehicle off this past Tuesday because the "refill coolant indicator light" came on yet again. When I got to the shop the front desk person says to me "I know we've never made you fill this form out before, but we need you to complete it this time." That raised a red flag for me. When I read through the document, there was a space for me to state what the concerns were with the vehicle. At the bottom of the page, it talked about how the customer is responsible for any work done on the vehicle etc. It made me feel like they were trying to cover their mistake of not properly fixing the vehicle the first two times and wanted to guarantee that they get paid. I picked my vehicle up yesterday and was charged $918.19. Not to mention the additional charge I incurred due to needing to pay for a rental car. When I questioned the fee, I was told some bogus story that I supposedly had another leak in the vehicle. I asked how that could be possible when the first two times they had the vehicle they fed me the same line "that there was a leak." I asked them why couldn't detect a leak 2 months ago when the light first came on. He said there was no way of knowing, and that the leak was on the other side of the vehicle. So, in two months' time, I supposedly had three separate leaks in the vehicle. The lines he kept feeding me seemed disingenuous. I own a BMW and know that parts and service can be costly which I am well aware of. My issue is that I kept getting charged for a service that never really rectified the problem. I felt very hurt and defenseless. I've been a loyal customer with Zoels for at least a decade and have never had these types of issues or concerns about the quality of their work or honesty. I have even recommended the auto body to friends and family members. Yesterday was the last time at Zoels. I'm truly devasted, but this chapter is closed indefinitely.

Excellent experience all around
This was my first accident so the first time for submitting an insurance claim and getting body work done. Johnna and the staff at Zoel's made this so easy for me. Everything was fully explained and my emailed questions were quickly answered. They worked directly with my insurance company and with Enterprise car rental. It was seamless and top-notch experience start to finish.
