I took my truck in to get front end looked at after repairing wheel bearings. I said I stripped the bolts but just wanna make sure everything is fine. They told me my bolts were stripped and I might have a transmission leak in my cooling lines. I told them that I spray Fluid Film underneath to protect against rust (it’s like motor oil). They charged me $140 to tell me what I told them “bolts are stripped” and that have a transmission leak they were wrong about. They also did not call me before inspecting my car and after I dropped my keys in the overnight key drop box. My family owns two mechanic shops in Missouri and charge $20. They always give cost estimates before doing anything. The owner told me “we don’t work for free”. I agree with that, but an inspection is not $140.
