Quick, Kind, & Efficient
I brought my car in with a tire leak with no appointment and they were able to fit me in and take care of me pretty fast with no problems or questions asked. I initially called somewhere else and was told immediately that they'd only replace my tire but it'd be 'a while.' The guys here were friendly and were able to fix the tire up no problem. I will continue to come here instead of going straight to dealerships and places that only want you to spend top dollar. I appreciate these guys!

outstanding honest service
i had my chrysler pacifica up there for a code that was being put out, they checked it and gave me options and good advice, didnt just throw parts at it and hoped it worked. tim has always been honest and fair, love tuffy auto!

Ryan provided great service upfront
Ryan in front provided excellent customer service but the guys who changed my flat tire don’t pay attention, and I’m a 62 yr old woman!
I asked them to put my spare, which was the same as the four I had on my truck and never been used, on my chrome rim.
They did it but they put the letters on the inside instead of the outside. Then when brought to their attention after it was done, they said “your spare doesn’t have letters”, I bent over and looked under my truck and told them to do the same and only then did they admit to doing it wrong, that was kind of annoying, kind of like calling the customer a liar. The other tires on my truck were exactly the same and all white letters are on outside.
Mistakes are made and we are human, and they did offer for me to come back and change it back the correct way, but I was way out of my area, so that won’t be happening. I just think that maybe whoever did the job should be trained better and supervised by someone who is knowledgeable and trained appropriately for the job. This wasn’t the case on this day.
Also, be aware, when you call some of these places to see if they can take you when you get a flat on a busy highway and you need help. They will transfer you to a third-party towing service that rips you off which is also what happened this day. ALWAYS call Auto service directly. On this day they transferred me to Atlas, which did a great job, but the third-party charged me just for answering the phone. And Christine, the incredibly nasty, rude woman couldn’t even get the information correct as to where I was which is why I sat on the highway for over an hour.
Mavis/Tuffy needs to oversee their employees and make sure that they are treating their customers with correct customer service because they probably do have good people working for them. I just didn’t experience any of that on this day a week ago.

BUYING REVIEWS!!! RIP OFF
THE 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE BOUGHT WITH A STORE DISCOUNT AND MOST LIKELY NOT LEGIT!! Up front, there is a sign in the store that gives $10.00 off if you provide a Google review in store...first sign this place is shady and buying reviews. This review is from my home without $10 off to "buy" a good review. My personal opinion that this should be illegal, but there is a sucker born every day and why places like this stay in business. Called day before and Cody said they could program my 4 TMPS for about $25.00. Went in the next day and person behind counter said it would be $80.00. I said no thanks since another shop quoted to do it for $40.00 (Tire Choice on Sunlake). Guy quickly came back and said manager agreed they will do it for $40.00. (Although Cody said $25.00 the day before on the phone). It took them about 30 min to program the 4 TPMS. When I checked out I asked if they offered a military discount since I am active duty military. He said in a condescending tone "you want a discount when we gave you 50% off the TPMS program". I said, "well it is not a discount when other shops charge $40.00 for the same service". I dropped the discussion about it from there. I don't expect special treatment for a military discount, if they say no, then no complaining or anything. I always ask but NEVER get upset or press the issue if the answer is no. But for this guy to say he gave me a 50% discount on programing 4 TPMS at their rate of $80.00 is a bit of a stretch. He could have said they charge $160 normally, but will do it for $80.00 and call it a %50 discount. Looks like they are inflating their prices quite a bit and then champion that they gave the customer a "discount". I may be a walk-in, but I am not an idiot. I will not be using this place anymore as there are A BUNCH of shops within 2 miles that do the exact same thing for honest prices. You had a chance to gain a new customer, but I will forever advise my friends and neighbors to avoid your shop. Additionally, I despise businesses that "buy" Google reviews, it shows their true lack of business ethics.

Part markup much too high. Will lie to your face.
Tuffy in Clermont, Florida. Very expensive! Labor reasonable, but they overcharge for certain parts. They lie to your face.

The story: My alternator went out so I had the car towed to the nearest garage, Tuffy. They replaced both the alternator and battery, which was toast. They charged 388.99 for a new alternator and 151.49 for an MT-35 Interstate battery. The next day I started making calls. First called Swinson, and the manager said that Tuffy is well-known for overcharging its customers. Eyeopener, he said, "most of the auto places are crooked. I used to be too until I got religion and changed the way I do business." Next, I called O'Reilly Autoparts and asked about the cost of the battery and alternator. They said the battery is $140 and the alternator...wait for it... is $229. So the battery price is reasonable with a 9%-ish markup. However the markup on the alternator was 70%. The person at O'Reilly said that I was definitely overcharged. I then called Tuffy and they said they have to mark up the price to pay for electricity, etc. I said, not 70%, and I asked for a partial refund, which they refused to do. I admit that I lost my temper and called them a bunch of crooks. It turns out that parts markups range from 25% to 50% according to mechanicsadvisor.com. So 70% is definitely unreasonable and on that basis alone I am more than justified in my conclusion that they are crooked.

Also, when I picked up the car I asked for the alternator core, but they refused at first then said it would cost me $65 since that's how much they get for remanufacture. They claimed they had reduced my bill by $65 (which I figured was a baldfaced lie), so I would have to pay that to get it back, which I declined. Turned out to be more B.S. O'Reilly said they only get $10 for sending in the alternator core. Swinson also said that was ridiculous.

The bottom line is that Tuffy way overcharged for the alternator and they were perfectly willing to lie to my face. My advice is stay away. Swinson charges much less and has a lifetime warranty on alternators. Better yet, buy your own alternator and get a lifetime warranty on the part from O'Reilly. Clark's prices are also low, and the two brothers have excellent rapport with customers.

Junior is AWESOME!!
First I would like to Thank Junior for his Professionalism, and Excellent Customer Service, he went the Extra Mile to see that I was Satified when I left, I would recommend anyone there. And I hope Junior gets a Promotion.

Misdiagnosis
My overall experience of the Tuffy in Wesley Chapel was incredibly poor. I was shocked with the not only how bad the service was but also with the evasive style of management that was shown after the mistakes that they made.

I took my Volkswagen CC to this establishment because they advertised that they were competent with working on Volkswagen's, something they soon to prove very wrong. My car was making a very loud whistling noise when the car was idling and I thought it could have been something to do with the serpentine belt. After looking at the car they told me that the problem was with the alternator, even though I was surprised by the diagnosis, I trusted their "expert" opinion and told them to replace it. Two days later, I went in to pick up my car which they charged me nearly $800 for. As soon as I pulled out of the shop I could tell that something still wasn't right as it was making the exact same noise as before, so I took my car back to Tuffys. After they took a look at the car again, they claimed that the alternator they had put in was faulty and said they would replace it and all should be well. Again, I go back and pick up my car and drive it off site. To my amazement, it was still make the exactly same noise as before. They looked at the car for the third time and told me that the problem resided within the casing of the engine and was probably the timing chain and refused to work on the car. Tuffy suggested I take it elsewhere. Third time is clearly the charm when it comes to Tuffy diagnostics. Tuffy did help me find a towing service that could take my car to Reeves Imports who I chosen to finally fix my car. However this was also a disaster as the towing company tore off the engine shield underneath my car which would add another $200 to my expense. Good call from Tuffy.

When I got my car back from Reeves Imports they informed me that the problem had nothing to do with my alternator or even my timing chain but in fact the PVC valve had faltered blowing two gaskets. This ended up costing me just over $2200. Reeves informed me that the fact that Tuffy had let me drive the car away twice after their misdiagnosis probably made the problem substantially worse, in turn making the repairs that much more expensive. When I took this information back to Tuffy to see just how they had got it so wrong, the manager, Tim, wasn't there so I asked them for him to call me. He didn't, so I went back again. He wasn't there, so I asked them to get Tim to call me and he never did. I couldn't believe how unwilling they were to help and how Tim avoided me. He acted like a little child hiding from his mistakes. If anyone from the corporate office reads this and would like to make amends, please reprimand Tim for his inability to manage, dishonesty and all around poor service.

PLEASE AVOID WESLEY CHAPEL TUFFY AT ALL COSTS!!!

I think the best way to describe why this Tuffy Auto Service Center is now receiving a 5-star rating is due to the new manager, Tim.
Tim, the new manager, greeted us in a very warm manner. He listened to my husband's comments and walked the length of our car to ensure us we would be properly advised of what the problem might be. He told us he would call as soon as they had diagnosed the problem, which he did in a most expeditious time frame. His estimated time of repair was met and called us immediately. When we picked the car up, he was again, very engaging. We were extremely pleased with his overall commitment to us as his customers. Has restored our faith in Tuffy's Auto Service Center in Wesley Chapel.

quick and efficient
went in for an oil change and new wipers - they recommended a tune up as it has been a while ( my car has over 100k miles ) and since I was pinched for cash just before the holidays they offered to do part of the tune up now and part later :)
