Don't recommend this dealership
I'd like to share our experience at Toyota of Richardson. After purchasing a new truck there 10 years ago, on November 26, 2025, we drove from East Texas to this dealership to look at a Toyota Highlander they had on their website. It was a 2024 with just over 11,000 miles. We worked with Omar, who was very helpful. We decided to purchase the vehicle after a short test drive. This vehicle was a Buy Today at this price. Omar quoted the price and an additional $3995 (along with warranties that we chose to buy) We were told by one of the used car managers (I believe), that there was no negotiation on this $3995 charge before they put it on the lot. I've seen it also called in other reviews a reconditioning fee. Anyway, we drove it home and because it was the Thanksgiving holiday, we didn't drive till the Saturday following. When we did, we discovered that the Apple Car Play Voice Activation did not work. We called back and talked to another associate (because ours was not available) who stayed on the phone with my husband, trying to pinpoint the problem. After that, we took it to Classic Toyota in Tyler to have them take a look. They said it needed a new radio. That day was about four hours at the dealership. Then when we went to pick it up, we discovered that the Voice Activation still didn't work. After we were told that, I called the Richardson dealership and talked to the used car sales manager, Rob. He said he would have his guys take a look if we wanted to bring it there. But then later that night, he called to say that if it was an open ticket (at Classic Toyota) they wouldn't be able to work on it. He also started talking about a recall on it, that had no fix. Yes, we had read about the recall on the Carfax, but NOWHERE did it say anything about that affecting the Voice Activation. He said he had more information. I asked why that information wasn't available to us. I also asked why on their 160 point inspection that adds $3995 onto the cost of the car, that this issue wasn't discovered or tested. He said the inspection was for safety features. While he offered to have his service team look at it, he was very dismissive.
I called two times during this time to try to talk to a General Manager, but no one ever returned my call.
After numerous hours in the shop in Tyler, it was discovered that the original radio had shorted out and that had shorted out both microphones. It took awhile but it does work now thanks to the service team in Tyler, Texas at Classic Toyota.
So, please do your due diligence if you are buying from this dealership. Be aware of an upcharge of $3995 for this inspection, but make sure you check everything before you buy.
I would never buy another vehicle from this dealership again.
