Great work and communication
My estimator Scot was very thorough in his inspection and estimate. He worked hard to keep costs reasonable as it was a minor repair that I was paying for out of pocket. The level of communication about my vehicle's status was great. Highly recommend.

Bad start, better ending.
I tried two times to schedule an appointment and did not receive a return call to make an appointment. I had to go in person in order to schedule the vehicle drop-off. Once scheduled, Chris became my contact with the collision center. He kept me informed as to what was happening, and assisted me with dealings with the insurance company. While it was disappointing when a part shortage drastically increased the amount of time my vehicle was at the shop, this would have been the case no matter what repair center I had chosen. And it is likely that Chris' actions to find the part at another Subaru dealer ended up shortening the wait time by a fair amount. From what I see and experience so far, the repair work done was quite thorough and complete.

I will never go there again!
I can't say that we necessarily have a problem with the quality of work, it is too soon to tell. That being said, the experience was nothing but an ordeal from day one. First of all, we dropped our car off at our scheduled appointment time, however our car was not even touched for 2 weeks. Our car was completely driveable, so there was no reason to have it sitting on their lot. We were fortunate we did not have to pay for a rental car.

Secondly, they only have one insurance company that they consider "in network" (State Farm.) They constantly tried to use the fact that our insurance company (Nationwide) was not their "in network" insurer to explain away every delay and every pricing issue. Our insurance adjuster, who was very experienced in dealing with "out-of-network" situations, tried for a week to reach them to discuss the issues. But, it wasn't until we threatened to remove our car and take it to another shop that they finally returned our insurance adjuster's calls and began to work with them.

Estimates were changed, prices were increased from one supplement to the next. At one point, the Tom Wood adjuster blamed a portion of the escalating costs on requirements Subaru placed on their shop. On multiple occasions our contact at Tom Wood spoke to me in condescending tones. When he finally returned our insurance adjuster's calls, he spoke to her in the same manner. Tom Wood's adjuster tended to have an "our way or the highway" attitude to the entire process. He seemed genuinely angry that our insurer was negotiating costs instead of just cutting a check.

They had our car for 44 days. To repair a cracked front bumper cover. For 2 weeks it was just sitting there in the "queue", almost a week was wasted by them not returning calls to our insurance. We did not have parts delays. The overall management of the experience caused unnecessary stress and unnecessary time without our vehicle.

Never come here.
From start to finish my experience at the Tom wood collision center has been an absolutely disaster. Do not trust this place. Take your business elsewhere. The timeline of repairs, communication, and project management here is absolutely unacceptable. I have not had my car for four months and have been given every excuse under the sun. Do not bring your car here. Avoid at all costs.
